The claim that cheating is impossible on LAN is incorrect. LAN setups remove remote injection and most online cheat vectors, but players have still been caught using software, hardware, or external information.
A clear documented case is CS:GO player Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat at the 2018 eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia tournament. He loaded an aimbot onto the organizers’ PC (renamed to look innocuous), used it during a match, and was caught when admins approached his station #factCheck
