To my Republican friends. You may notice your friends using whataboutism to defend Trump and Republican behavior over the past few years. This is because their actual policies, in contrast to those they ran on in the last election, resemble Democrat policies. If you are using whataboutism you aren't the good guy.

The people promoting data center construction claim to understand economics but completely ignore the existence of externalities. If you claim economics is on your side you don't get to half-ass it and exclude externalities. Blackboard ceteris paribus economics doesn't stop the harm of loud power hungry buildings disrupting people's lives in suburban neighborhoods and powering the surveillance state. Address those issues rationally and intentionally and the resistance to data centers will naturally relax.

To understand the Tillamook boycott one must first understand that things have changed and it is a matter of survival. Christians have realized that remaining an all accepting limp wristed pacifist version of Christianity is not only umbilical but self destructive and disastrous both to our faith and civilization. What previous generations see as harmless acceptance of other people and cultures we see as promotion of a destructive and invasive force that is trying to undermine our society. Ae it CCP communism and state worship, AIPAC influence overgrowth, or the acceptance and promotion of Islam, it is counter to our Christian faith and ideals. The problem is not Tillamook's recipe, we know that hasn't changed. The problem is they are openly advertising and promoting themselves as halal. A pagan religion and food preparation that carries a note of sacrifice to a false god. Do not eat the pagan cheese. God wills it!

Today Ring tried to give me a 'free upgrade' to their AI system. I immediately went to have it removed or cancel my subscription as I do not want an AI openly watching all inputs from my cameras. They had no way to undo the free upgrade and had to cancel my entire subscription and resubscribe me. They claim to be working on this problem and the person admitted people have been unhappy with the recent changes. Once these cameras stop functioning I will probably upgrade to an entirely offline system. The camera ecosystem is very different now than when I initially got the system and the sunk cost fallacy admittedly has an effect. Long story short, the time of doorbell cameras may be changing and I see opportunity in locally hosted high-privacy alternatives to companies like Ring.

As for me and my house, we will not buy Tillamook.
