In Christianity, the New Testament does not give Christians a specific low minimum marriage age, nor does Jesus command child marriage. But Christian societies historically permitted marriage at ages that we would now classify as child marriage. Medieval Catholic canon law generally recognized 12 for girls and 14 for boys as marriageable ages. Cambridge's historical scholarship confirms those thresholds. Interestingly, the Catholic Church's current universal Code of Canon Law still states that, at the level of canonical validity, a man under 16 and a woman under 14 cannot validly marry—meaning 16 and 14 are the baseline canonical thresholds—while allowing bishops' conferences to establish higher ages. Civil law and local church rules ordinarily impose substantially higher requirements. So, the takeaway here is that societies governed by all three of the worlds major religion have historically participated in or codified what we would consider today, marriage to a minor. Also, in modern practice, All three contain major communities that reject child marriage and operate under modern minimum-age laws. Now there are exceptions to the rule, and that is true of all three of these religions. We have caught people of Jewish heritage participating in pedophilia, there are isolated communities of Islamic sects that participate in pre-modern marriage practices, and don't get me started on the controversies of the Catholic Church in recent history. I could keep going but this would turn into a book series. My point here, is that when someone illicits a strong sense of fear, anger, or some other powerful emotional reaction in you, take a breath and think: What is their endgame? Why do they want to control my emotional reactions? What do they have to gain by turning me against strangers that I do not know personally? Have I actually spent time with the types of people that are implied to be my enemy? Who would financially benefit from starting a conflict? (Weapons manufacturers, politicians, news outlets, etc.) One other lesson, and what I consider the most important. Is to not judge people because they belong to a belong to a certain group, whether that be a religion, political ideology, race, gender, or nationality. Judge people by their individual character. And never let someone desensitize you to the mistreatment or violence against innocent people that you do not know, especially children. If you are a Christian, keep in mind that God lists 7 things that he hates/detests. Chief among those are "Hands that shed innocent blood." I doubt this will change anyones mind, but I will always spread the truth, no matter how it is perceived. Because I believe one of the greatest evils in modern society, are the lies spread with the goal of demagogues and bigots taking power, and convincing people that they are doing good while they violate the very teachings that they claim to believe.

With all of the fear mongering and demagoguery surrounding Islam, I decided to do something radical in today's society and actually do the research. So I am going to address claims, because from the standpoint of Christian ethics we are commanded to search for truth and understanding. Radical non-violence with the exception of self defense and protecting the innocent. I have met a pretty decent number of Muslims in my life, and as you would expect, they are normal people who are just trying to provide for themselves and their families. Which is why it angers me to see people like Jake Lang, the alt- right, white nationalist, and often neo nazi influenced propagandists instigating violence against peaceful Muslim Americans who just want to be free in our country. One major claim made by the fear mongering propagandists is that Islam commands Muslims to kill non believers. Verses often cited for that claim such as Qur’an 9:5 refer to specific wartime conflicts with groups who had broken treaties and were fighting the early Muslim community. The surrounding verses explicitly exempt treaty-keepers (9:4) and command Muslims to give protection and safe passage to enemies who seek it (9:6). The verses stating to commit violence against non-believers are all based in historical war time commands that have been taken out of context, which extremists also do with verses in the Bible, not teachings for everyday life. The Quran permits kindness and fair treatment toward non-Muslims who do not act aggressively against Muslims (Surah 60:8). [1] The Quran states clearly, "There is no compulsion in religion" (Surah 2:256), meaning people cannot be forced at sword-point to convert. Islamic traditions require Muslims to protect the rights, safety, and property of non-Muslim citizens living within an Islamic society. Now, if you are being honest, this mirrors Christian teachings in many ways. Deuteronomy 20:16–17 — Israel is commanded to destroy certain Canaanite peoples during the conquest of Canaan. 1 Samuel 15:2–3 — Saul is commanded to attack the Amalekites and destroy them. Numbers 31:7–18 — Israel fights the Midianites, with severe commands concerning the defeated population. Deuteronomy 13:6–10 — under ancient Israelite law, Israelites who tried to lead others into worshiping other gods could face execution. But it would be misleading to conclude from these passages that Christianity commands Christians today to kill non-Christians. The New Testament instead contains teachings such as Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies,” and Romans 12:18: “Live at peace with everyone” insofar as possible. Another is that Islam permits or encourages marriage to minors, while some radical/extremist Islamic groups point to the Muhammad and Aisha story to justify horrendous actions, using this as a blanket statement to say most or all Muslims are pedophiles is certainly misinformation. Most modern Muslim scholars and governments frequently impose higher minimum ages often around 18, using Islamic principles concerning welfare, maturity, prevention of harm, and governmental regulation. To expand upon my point and show why taking these verses out of literary context and distorting them is a tactic to cause more division, and in my opinion to manipulate the clear message of peace that Jesus taught, I will provide similar controversial examples within Judaism and Christianity, with Judaism sharing a strong comparison to Islam. The Mishnah discusses a father arranging the betrothal of a minor daughter.Even more controversially, Mishnah Niddah 5:4 discusses the legal consequences of intercourse involving a girl aged three years and one day whose father arranged her betrothal. Which, if taken out of context, sounds pretty disgusting. But in actuality modern Judaism says to wait until the a woman is mature and decides who she wants to marry. If you agree that we should search for objective truth in political discussions, and point out when demagogues are emotionally manipulating us for their personal gain, give me a follow. I would like to build up a following if only to have a chance to challenge these so called debaters and experts. They are all causing division and reinforcing implicit bias/bigotry. If I had more time to focus rigorously on exposing their illogical nonsense, I could contribute to fixing civil discourse and a sense of unity. Which is the best possible result. Anyone who is spreading the lie that some large group of people belonging to either political party is your enemy and wants to commit violence against you is a fear mongering jackass. Most people are good, that is an empirical fact. These people, like @scrowder, @bennyjohnson, @MattWalshBlog @hasanthehun @KyleKulinski and many more are profiting from dividing this country, and division is what is holding us back from making actual change. Most of us agree on much more than we disagree on. Quit identifying with political parties and tribalism, focus on ideas, because the most important things are the things that the vast majority of us agree on.

Realizing 99.9% of political debaters/streamers are retarded is a step towards intellectual maturity. Especially the psychology and formal logic bros, they learn a few concepts and spam buzzwords to impress the layman. Andrew Wilson is a prime example of that. Anyone who has a basic grasp of the principles and tactics employed by these pseudo-intellectuals can see right through it.

Even though Candace didn't really convince me of anything. I am glad to see her call @paleochristcon out on this stupid debate tactic. Alot of these pseduo-intellectual bloodsport debaters do this. Aggressively pressure someone to answer a question, rushing them to try and force a mistake or accuse them of stalling. If it doesn't work it just makes you look insecure, which is why Candace dominated this exchange. So Andrew got insecure and asked if she had gotten a text message with the question about the charges, which backfired as well. It's clear to me that Andrew underestimated Candaces experience, and that was a mistake.

You know, when I tag these popular political streamers to call out their blatant lies and uneducated opinions, they never reply. I know they would chalk it up to my page not being big enough, but it's just a built in excuse. They are terrified of regular people like me who actually do their research. Ideological cowards who's pockets are lined to spread propaganda.
