“Am I happy or unhappy? It’s not a very important question. I live with such frenzied intensity.” —Albert Camus, Notebooks, 1935-1942

It is time the ruling class faced the death penalty for their war crimes, mass social murder and extreme domestic sociocide. These are criminals and are part of a criminal organization guilty of the worst crimes imaginable. They must face justice.

Police are the enemy of the working class, correct @RNC_PoliceNL?
This has to be the video of the year. Bally Bagayoko who is the mayor of French city Saint-Denis shouts at police to “Stop!” and protects the student protesters.

This statistic stunned me: In the past five years, NATO’s European members and Canada increased their military spending at a higher pace than the six European great powers in the five years preceding World War I. Today, there are more active armed conflicts around the world than at any moment since 1946. All but one are in the Global South, and NATO countries are heavily implicated in all of them. Europe’s rearmament is therefore both a symptom of a renewed assault on the countries of the Global South, and, unmistakably, reflects preparations for a wider global war. That is why the 30 October day of action by Europe’s dockworkers is so vital. It is not only aimed at stopping weapons flows to the Zionist entity. It takes shot at imperialism’s entire military apparatus, which wages war on the global periphery while decimating whatever remains of Europe’s social democratic arrangement. In Europe, these kinds of actions are as rare as they are risky. In Italy, for example, ports are now designated as national security sites — the Italian State Prosecutor recently declared that Italy is part of a “fragmented and hybrid world war” — and strikes can be subject to severe legal penalties. And yet they are urgent. More than 50 years ago, Frantz Fanon asked when the “sleeping beauty” of the European proletariat might rise to the moment and acknowledge that it has often rallied "behind the position of our common masters on colonial issues”. The dockworkers are preparing to break with that long impasse. That is why we are launching a fundraiser to support participating workers and unions ahead of the strike on October 30. Please contribute what you can. If the campaign succeeds, we hope to take it further afield — to all sites where workers can arrest the flows powering NATO’s war machine.
NEW ⛓️‍💥 On 30 October, dockworkers across 40 Mediterranean ports will take coordinated action against militarisation. They refuse to let NATO, the US and the EU turn their ports into outposts for a war economy that devours public resources and visits destruction abroad.

So sick of people arguing about how much of a "choice" MAiD is when being on disability and having to rely on food banks + the 'nutritional supplement' programs via PWD etc. still wasn't enough to keep my now-deceased loved one's BMI high enough to be eligible for a transplant.🙃

Children should not be allowed to seek employment.
One of the things that shocked me when I extended my social circle beyond the social class I was born into is how common it is for people to get jobs before they turn 18. I feel like even liberals should be appalled by the concept of minors being employed. 1/

They will send your son to die for oil. They will call it "freedom." They will put his name on a wall. They will give you a folded flag. They will write a law naming a post office after him in your district. And the person who sent him, the specific person, the one who sat in the meeting where the decision was made, who signed the authorization, who appeared on television that night looking grave and resolute, Will retire to a speaking circuit. Will write a memoir about the difficulty of leadership. Will be called a statesman. Will receive a presidential library. Will die peacefully, at an advanced age, surrounded by family, with his legacy debated in careful, balanced terms by historians who were not in the body bag. There is no accountability at the top. There has never been accountability at the top. The wall with the names on it is not accountability. It is the receipt.

Some remarkable reporting from the Star here: "American-controlled multinational corporations have dominated the most lucrative federal contracts under Carney’s leadership, a Toronto Star analysis of government data shows. The share of government contract dollars going to U.S. companies also increased."

"Canadian" private citizens, politicians & institutions who fundraise for the IOF should be subject to comprehensive financial sanctions. The federal gov. *should* ban all flights to "israel", but we know they won't since "Canada" is a settler-colony too

Never forget that Israel did a study finding it was easier to get Europeans to dislike Muslims than it was to get them to sympathize with Israel…
As Islamophobia explodes across X and Western media, remember this leaked Israeli government study, a $million PR project designed to make people fear Muslims to rebuild Israel’s image. In recent months, a leaked report commissioned by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and executed by Mark Penn’s Stagwell Group (the same PR conglomerate tied to U.S. politics through SKDK) was published. It’s pure psychological warfare disguised as market research. 🧵1/

The Green Party is 51 years behind the UN on this one, yet still ahead of all other major Western political parties — that’s how bad Western politics is
In 1975 the UN passed resolution 3379 that Zionism is racism. The Israeli ambassador went on the podium and tore it up. There's nothing new under the sun. We're condemned to do this over and over.

Nobody cares how historic or spiritual your racism is. This isn't an argument. Can you believe this is the best that a barrister/judge could come up with?
Zionism is both historic and spiritual; the ancient connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel and their right to self-determination in their historic homeland. I am British by birth, belonging and love; Jewish by inheritance, memory and faith. Britain is my country. Israel is not a competing loyalty, it is the homeland of the Jewish people to which I am bound by ancestry, memory and identity. For millions of Jews, that is the heart of Zionism. Not supremacy, dispossession or the killing of Palestinians and not a colonial claim to a foreign land but the self-determination of a people with an ancient and continuous connection to it. In practice, it must mean two peoples entitled to self-determination both living in security and freedom with neither people’s future purchased with the lives, rights or humanity of the other. That is why declaring “Zionism is racism” is not merely wrong, it tells most Jews that their understanding of their own history, identity and collective freedom is itself morally suspect. The Greens should ask themselves whom they are trying to please by adopting a slogan that turns Jewish self-determination into a moral stain. If your politics of inclusion requires millions of Jews to renounce a central part of their history and identity before they qualify for your solidarity, it isn’t inclusion. You are telling Jews: you may belong here but only if you disown Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people. That is not anti-racism. It is imposing a political test on Jews that no genuinely progressive movement would dream of imposing on any other minority.

They came back from Vietnam and made movies about it. Apocalypse Now. Full Metal Jacket. Platoon. The Deer Hunter. Born on the Fourth of July. Beautiful films. Serious films. Films about the trauma of American soldiers, the moral complexity of American soldiers, the broken psyches of American soldiers. How many major American films center the experience of the Vietnamese? How many Hollywood productions have you seen where the Vietnamese are the protagonists, the full human beings with names and families and inner lives, and the Americans are the faceless army descending from the sky? Think about that structure. Think about what it means when a country kills three million of your people, loses the war, goes home, and then spends the next fifty years producing prestige cinema about how hard the killing was for the killers. Vietnamese suffering as backdrop. American suffering as subject. Vietnamese bodies as set dressing. American guilt as narrative arc. They could not conquer Vietnam militarily. But they tried to conquer the story. They tried to make the war, in global cultural memory, fundamentally about them. Their boys. Their trauma. Their national reckoning. We are not your reckoning. We are not your backdrop. We won. We exist. We have our own story, and in our story, we are the ones who were here before you came and here after you left.

Settler colonialism has long-established frameworks of escalating oppression: ethnic cleansing, apartheid and genocide. It's a well-documented pattern, and Israel has ticked every one of the boxes. Yet its apologists always find a reason to tell us Israel's crimes are different

The U.S. is a high gross income, low net living standard country. It pays high wages and then takes them back through privatized costs that other high-income countries socialize. The working class here is more indebted, more precarious, and more alone.

As well, there is the stuffing of ballot boxes, electronic vote-flipping, & the tossing out of ballots for Lula—the typical electoral theft tricks employed by right-wingers. The U.S. is directly interfering in Latin America's elections & it's so brazen as to be undeniable.
Apparently the surging evangelical vote is part of why Bolsonaro Junior is on his way to beating Lula. But wait! Wasn’t Lula ahead just a few weeks ago? So that can’t explain all of it. Anyhow…just Latin American electoral things.

Amid all the hysteria, it is worth remembering that “Zionism is racism” was once an official UN General Assembly position. In 1975, Resolution 3379 determined that “Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.” It was only repealed in 1991 after a major US campaign
