My friend was riding @SFBART, spotted a rider reading my book and was kind enough to snap a photo for me.
Still blows my mind that I wrote a #TrueCrime book. I work in baseball. I had no clue what I was doing, but figured it out.
Don't let your current job define who you are.
When an athlete says "it's indescribable," that's fine. It's their job to compete.
When a reporter says "it's indescribable," it's infuriating. It's literally your job to describe it. Try again. Keep trying. Do your job.

The team with the better record has won each series so far this postseason
Since playoffs expanded to multiple rounds in 1969, just 4 years have featured the higher win pct (when applicable) winning each series: 1986, ‘78, ‘76, ‘70
Those each were just 3 series, though. In Wild Card era, this is first time it’s even happened in each pre-WS series
We did an episode on Game Six in 1986 too.
We prefer to use a variety of voices, whenever possible, and this episode includes some Ken Coleman on Red Sox radio and Bob Murphy on Mets radio.

Josh, thanks a lot. I always wondered how the Dodger and A’s announcers called it. I also wonder about 1986, Mookie Wilson’s ground ball. I heard Scully’s and Mets announcer Bob Murphy’s calls. I always wanted to hear Jack Buck’s and the Red Sox announcers calls. Do you have them
You've probably heard the Vin Scully call and the Jack Buck call of Kirk Gibson's epic walkoff HR from Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.
But have you heard Don Drysdale's call on #Dodgers radio? An excerpt from "Crafting the Call" with @jgoldstrass
Fourth and final excerpt. Here is @jgoldstrass breaking down the four different calls from Scully, Buck, Drysdale and King from that legendary moment.
Here's a link to the entire episode:

New Crafting the Call:
We start with Willie Mays, we conclude with Kyle Schwarber, and in between, @Josh_Suchon and I analyze how broadcasters called four-HR games. I'm proud of our conclusion here.

I had the song "this is gonna be the best day of my life" stuck in my head for a week after recording this episode. Such a fun episode to break down how the best day of someone's baseball life was captured.
Now that the MiLB regular season has concluded, there's space to drop a new Crafting the Call with @Josh_Suchon: The best game in a player's life.
This was a blast, breaking down the calls for Jo Adell, Ryan O'Hearn, Rick Wise, Bengie Molina, Mike Benjamin, and more.

At a loss for words on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Then I watched nearly 200 @FordhamNYC students, many born years later, climb 2,200 stadium steps in honor of the ascent FDNY firefighters undertook that day. They showed up. They remembered. I have hope for this generation.

Maybe the weirdest MiLB story of the year?
On July 19th, Brady Ebel was at the plate with a 2-0 count for the Wilson Warbirds when play was stopped due to a thunderstorm. They suspended the game.
By the time play was scheduled to resume on August 25th, Brady had been promoted. When the game restarted, his brother, Trey, stepped into the box to finish the at-bat that Brady started. He worked a walk 🤯 atmlb.com/3UQc4ZQ

On this date in Nolan Ryan History: August 22, 1989.
Strikeout No. 5,000 and he did it against Rickey Henderson.
"As (Texas Rangers coach) Davey Lopes told me before the game, it's an honor to be the 5,000th strikeout because if Ryan hasn't struck you out, you're nobody," Henderson said. "Mr. 5,000? That's quite all right. It's another paragraph in the record book."
