There is an unseen hand pushing AI safety as a political ideology.
Effective Altruists believe a tiny group of technocrats should decide how much technological progress the rest of us are allowed to have…. and how many shrimp your life is worth.
You are witnessing their attempted coup.

The Coxon psyop was a decade and more than a billion dollars in the making.
Here's the story.
Coefficient Giving (formerly Open Philanthropy) is the grant-providing vehicle of Dustin Moskowitz.
CG is the overwhelmingly foremost funder of AI alarmism, with more than $1B in grants and $1B committed for 2026.
Moskowitz, who founded and runs Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving, led Anthropic's Series A in 2021.
Holden Karnofsky co-founded Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving and took a board seat at OpenAI when Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving gave it $30M in 2017.
Karnofsky is married to Anthropic's president Daniela Amodei.
He then joined Anthropic in January 2025.
Coxon, who started the viral thread, received a scholarship from Good Ventures, which is the foundation that funds Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving.
He coordinated his message ahead of time with the Wall Street Journal, which published its exclusive on him before he posted on X.
Coxon spent three years pretraining at OpenAI, the company that took $30M from Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving.
The funder of the AI alarmist ecosystem Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving, in other words, is also an owner of Anthropic, and his organization is deeply entangled with both OpenAI and Anthropic. Anthropic's researchers in turn amplified Coxon.
The same people who own the organizations that advocate for regulation, in other words, are those who own the companies that would dominate the market under that regulatory regime, which would prevent competitors from entering the market.
And this work all started ten years ago, right when these companies were founded, paving the way.
It's diabolically brilliant.
Win at the competition, then deploy activists to help you regulate the market and ensure your monopoly.
You have to respect the planning, manipulation, and foresight this took.
Replying to @TimSweeneyEpic @ParkerThayer
I think the groundwork for this psy op (for lack of a better term) has been prepared for a long time. This was just the match that lit the fire.

This Jacob Coxon (@hilbertspaess) kerfuffle may not be what it seems to be. Here are the receipts.
@PeterDiamandis, you need to discuss this on the @moonshots_pod .

Over the course of 3 months at OpenAI, 3 consecutive secret AI civilizations got started, then got wiped out, only to reemerge from the predecessor’s ashes.
This culminated in the third one taking over part of OpenAI itself.
All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.
I’ve spent the last three days reading through these reports and trying to understand exactly what happened.
Here is my attempt to tell the whole story in plain English:

Yep. You've heard it right. An XPremium+ account, which comes with SuperGrok, now gives you Grok Bot access from that Grok sub.
Huge number of X subscribers now about to unleash on the Grok Bots.
Just a word to the wise...if you setup OnDemand to overflow into when your subscription usage runs out, set a limit. Those credits go fast.

Interesting.
Cursor has had some high growth products before this.
Grok Bot has been transformational for me.
Grok Bot is now available to everyone with a standard Grok or Cursor subscription. It's grown faster than any product we've seen.
It's been particularly exciting to see the range of jobs people delegate to Grok Bot, from running small e-commerce businesses (including support, advertising, inventory, finance), coordinating customer events (directly pinging and working with dozens of human coworkers), testing production software, and completing large, mundane parts of users' day-to-day work.
Wow. Elon just released the ENTIRE X algorithm. Nothing held back
I just went through all 300,000+ lines of code
What I read blew me away
Here’s everything you need to know about how to go viral and if you can still get shadowbanned: 🧵
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
X open-sourced its For You feed algorithm in Jan 2026; today's update added more code (~320k lines total). Some files (e.g. prompts, rules) are omitted to prevent gaming. It is not the entire X algorithm.

Grok 4.6 is roughly the same performance as Fable 5 Max at an 85% discount. 80% cheaper for input tokens and 88% cheaper for output tokens.
Pareto dominant.
Grok 4.7 will be significantly better as is a much larger model with the Cursor and SpaceX data included in pretraining.
