Dear @ATT: my wife @Schomeroo has been on a combo of live chat/phone for over three hours, trying to cancel her father's account. He has dementia and can no longer work his phone. This is maddening customer service, but now also heartbreaking

She has gotten ridiculous questions like "he has to cancel it himself." He. Has. Dementia. She has Power of Attorney. As if she doesn't have enough to deal with in his care? Have a heart and help one person help her, without going on a world tour of every @ATT help desk

Update: May 17. In 7 days @ATT has now mistakenly turned this into a business account, my wife has lost access, and they are once again asking for her father to get on the phone and verify his identity in order to restore it. Congrats @ATT, you have made this worse.
