Our very own #DrMaryEllenTaplin from @DanaFarber_GU will take the stage at #ASCO26 and present phase 3 PROTEUS trial. This is a key multimodal treatment question and could shift the paradigm on how we think about systemic therapy in the perioperative setting. Dr Taplin has worked on countless Neoadjuvant Strategies in prostate cancer and it is rewarding to see her work materialize at the big stage !

Radiographic Progression Without Prostate-specific Antigen Progression in Metastatic Hormone-sensitive Prostate Cancer: A Retrospective Analysis of the ENZAMET Trial (ANZUP 1304)

In ENZAMET, a post hoc multistate analysis of 1125 men with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, discordant radiographic progression without PSA rise occurred in 10% of patients and accounted for 30% of progression events. Discordant progression was associated with worse overall survival.
Enzalutamide significantly delayed and reduced risks of discordant and other progression, supporting routine imaging beyond PSA-based monitoring to better detect early radiographic disease progression in clinical practice settings worldwide. #ProstateCancer

Exciting 23 year update from the ERSPC #prostatecancer screening trial from @MoniqueRoobol and team, and a great editorial @VickersBiostats. NND is down to 12 and still falling! And the benefit:harm ratio would be even better w/ modern screening/dx/tx pathways.
At 23 years of follow-up, population-based PSA screening of asymptomatic men led to a sustained reduction in prostate cancer mortality, although overdiagnosis remains a concern. Full ERSPC study results: nej.md/42YYsg7
