You are setting Franklin Arias up to fail with those expectations if you think he should be hitting 5th over Curtis Mead and Wilyer Abreu.

Bryce Harper is the type of player this roster lacks. A natural leader, plays with an edge, playoff experience. If he’s truly available, the Red Sox need to be involved. At 5/118 remaining on his deal, it’s very reasonably priced.

The calendar flips to October and Freddie Freeman is young again. One of the great playoff performers of this century.

Ceddanne Rafaela absolutely needs to pen in any future plans, just not as a guy hitting in the top 5 of the lineup.

Should not be in pen in any future plans.

There’s absolutely 0 reason for Nick Sogard to not be on the big league roster in 2027.

Nick Sogard isn’t done. Still fighting for a roster spot next year. He’s certainly made a positive impression with the team through a limited sample size this year. Just a classic ballplayer. 102.6 EV / 362 FT solo HR:

Unless someone takes Bello in a trade, or Bennett gets deals in a deal for a bat, I just don’t see a path to Sonny Gray returning.

For the fans that booed Rafael Devers in his return to Fenway, I wonder how they feel now?

Roman, Adley, Wilson, Wilyer, Ceddanne, and Mead are the only guys you’re penciling into the 2027 lineup. That leaves some combo of probably adding at 3/4 of 2B/3B/SS/DH on the table to add at least one impact bat. What they do at SS could largely be decided by the CBA.

If Garrett Crochet isn’t on the mound to start the 6th inning, then serious questions will need to be asked about why he was on the roster to begin with.
151
Sounds like he’s gonna stay loyal to Mississippi State, but Kamario Taylor could create an unprecedented bidding war in the 2027 transfer portal if he wanted to.

The navy sleeves/accessories with the home whites look so much better than any other choice, and it’s not really close.

Extending Andrew Bailey should be the next priority.

Chad was asked to step into a difficult situation with little notice, but the trust he immediately commanded at the major league level was earned through years of work across our organization. Freddy’s first two starts for Tampa being in Colorado and Sacramento is brutal luck.

The Rays wanted Freddy Peralta to get more extension and move down the mound quicker, and you can already see a few changes. I'm excited to watch him the rest of the season.

I wonder if Seigler bunted on his own there or if the play was on. I philosophically disagree with the idea of bunting Duran over to 3rd there. Sure it draws in the defense, but he scores on any base hit out of the infield anyways, no need to hand the defense an out.
