#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni got into a back-and-forth with a reporter over why Jalen Hurts was allowed to fly back from London after being diagnosed with a blood clot:
This is the publicly known Jalen Hurts timeline:
• The team says he was cleated in the calf vs. the Rams in Week 4 but didn't ask for treatment until a few days later, practicing in full in between.
• After the #Eagles flew to London, an ultrasound found a superficial blood clot in his calf. Doctors still cleared him to play.
• However, the night before the game, he spent time in the hospital and was told not to sleep because it was a risk. He played the full game without much sleep.
• He then took the roughly 7-8 hour flight from London back to Philly and started practicing in full that week. Speaking to the media, Hurts called it a "very unique experience" but didn't want to get into details.
• A follow-up ultrasound then showed the clot had moved, and he was ruled out for Week 6.
• Further testing has now diagnosed him with deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in both lungs. He's on blood thinners and expected to miss the rest of the season.

After catching up and watching the game replay, I’m honestly a little confused by how much #Ravens fans are overreacting to the #Browns loss. Here’s why:
1. Tyler Huntley VASTLY limits the ceiling of this offense.
Huntley is a game manager at best. That’s not a knock on him, it’s just the reality of who he is as a quarterback. He struggles to consistently push the ball downfield, doesn’t throw with anticipation, and limits what you can realistically ask this offense to execute. I never expected a productive offensive performance with him under center, especially against this defense.
2. The Browns defense deserves some credit.
Even with a few guys out, Cleveland still has a very talented, well-coached defensive unit. The Ravens had some early success schematically, but the Browns adjusted after the first quarter and made life increasingly difficult. Sometimes you have to acknowledge that the opposing defense played a good football game.
3. The Ravens defense played a PHENOMENAL game.
Outside of a handful of third-down blunders, I thought this was another extremely encouraging performance from this unit.
Deshaun Watson threw for just 164 yards. The Ravens generated FIVE sacks, the pass rush was consistently disruptive, and the tackling continues to improve. Kyle Hamilton was outstanding, and the defense looked fast, physical, and disciplined for most of the afternoon.
There are still things to clean up, particularly in critical situations, but the overall trajectory of this defense is extremely encouraging as we approach the middle of the season.
4. The Ravens made critical mistakes that ultimately cost them the game.
Derrick Henry’s fumble, the missed field goal, and the late defensive breakdowns were all costly. Those are mistakes you simply cannot afford to make in a close divisional game.
But there’s a difference between identifying a handful of costly mistakes and acting like the entire team is fundamentally flawed.
5. CONTEXT MATTERS.
The Ravens are 4-2, playing without their two-time MVP quarterback, and just lost a divisional road game by three points.
Is it frustrating? Absolutely. Should the Ravens have won this game? Without question.
But I’m far more interested in the encouraging developments on defense than I am concerned about an offense being led by a backup quarterback with obvious limitations.
Get Lamar Jackson back healthy, continue building on what we’ve seen defensively, and clean up the situational mistakes.
I still feel VERY good about where this team is headed.
Not every loss needs to trigger a full-blown crisis.
Alright someone give me the recap on the #Ravens today. Daughter’s birthday party was this afternoon so could only watch the 1st Q.

Lining up your tight end at guard and throwing to him for a 29 yard gain is some sicko shit

It's actually insane when you see it like this, that they do this like 70 times a game and sometimes don't even get a delay of game
Ever wondered what goes into making a play-call in 40 seconds?

The Jesse Minter effect is getting ridiculous. Chargers with Minter: 11-6, +28 point differential. Without him: 0-5, -45.
Ravens before Minter: 8-9, +26. Under Minter: 4-1, +27.
He needs to be in the conversation for best head-coaching hire in football.

Lamar Jackson has made 119 starts since taking over for an injured Joe Flacco in 2018, including the playoffs.
In that time he’s missed 14 games due to injury.
You’d think it was 40 the way he’s talked about.
Nonetheless, it’s always weird when he’s out.

Ravens rookie Vega Ioane allowed ZERO pressures on 38 pass-blocking snaps against Atlanta.
He also earned Baltimore’s highest run-blocking grade among offensive linemen.
That’s two straight starts at center where he’s been the team’s highest-graded offensive lineman overall.
