HERE IS THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
I have always loved sports. Some I know more about than others. I also have had a dream of being a sports announcer one day. PA announcing, radio play by play or color commentary, I have always dreamed about doing that one day. My senior year of high school I had the privilege of announcing the JV and Jr high football games.
Now I’m no Chris Fowler or Kirk Herbstreit, but I have been around some great mentors that I have watched over the years do this. Mr George Leagans announcing the home football games I played in at Ware Shoals and also called a season of hornet football on the radio with, and Mr Gene Wood who I had the pleasure of working with for a few seasons in the press box at Tommy Davis Field. And there are many others that I have worked in radio with that I have learned a lot from like Ron Scarborough, Joel Kay, John Thompson and Sparky Hudson just to name a few.
As time has come and gone, my love for Ware Shoals High School, sports and announcing hasn’t changed. And now I am ready to give back to the community I love.
I am thrilled to announce that starting this Friday night, I am coming back home to Ware Shoals to be the PA announcer for Ware Shoals High School football!!! I will also be doing some baseball and softball as well.
I want to thank Coach Dodson and staff for this opportunity and for those who have mentored me and believed in me!! This is an exciting year for Ware Shoals High School and I am thrilled to be apart of it!!

Some breaking HS Soccer news, the girls 2a lower state title game will not be played tomorrow night between Academic Magnet and Atlantic Collegiate. Per AcMag HC Alister Delong- "Atlantic Collegiate filed a red card appeal so the HSL has to hear that appeal and the earliest they can do that is Monday. Not sure how the game was played Tuesday and an appeal just got filed. Doesn’t make sense to me."
