FROM THE DEVELOPER’S DESK 🧑🏽‍💻 | EPISODE 002 ONE YEAR OF $AIDE. THE STRUGGLES, THE PEOPLE, THE VISION. Today marks exactly one year since AI DeFi ($AIDE) was deployed. One whole year. 🥹 Sometimes, I sit back and think about how this journey started. We began with just $400 in liquidity and a market capitalization of $735. We had no idea how far we could go, and honestly, I didn’t know what the journey would look like. But we started. And slowly, we began to move. Looking back, I realise that building a project is one thing. Keeping it alive, believing in it when the numbers aren’t where you want them to be, and finding the strength to keep pushing when things don’t go as planned is an entirely different battle. If I’m being honest, I thought AIDE would be much further by now. I thought we would have crossed our first $10M milestone and be setting our sights on hundreds of millions. I thought we would already be at a stage where three of our major utilities were actively being used. But reality has been different from the picture I had in my head. The hardest part of this journey hasn’t been building. It’s been trying to move AIDE forward. It’s the rejection. It’s the people who promised to help but eventually disappeared. It’s watching people turn away from something you believe in because they don’t think it will make waves. And sometimes, it’s wondering how much further you could have gone if the right people had believed in the vision and decided to build alongside you. I’ve sacrificed my time, my sleep, friendships, and, most importantly, my money. 🤣🤣 Apparently, building something ambitious comes with a subscription fee nobody warned you about! But somewhere in all of this, I’ve learnt a lesson I will never forget: a journey of a thousand miles truly begins with one step. I’ve also learnt that not everyone who says they’re with you is actually with you. Some people are simply waiting for your success so they can join the story when the results become obvious. And that’s life. You learn, you adjust, and you keep moving. But this journey has also introduced me to some incredible people. I met @donsije , an amazing person who has been helping us manage @Aideficoin_. People like him remind me that genuine support still exists, and I am grateful for the role he plays in this journey. Then there was Graig. Graig passed away on the 12th of October, and this loss has been deeply painful for me. He single-handedly brought me 100 shillers and kept showing up every day until they were built. He didn’t just promise support; he showed up and did the work. And now, just like that, he’s gone. It’s painful because, behind every project, there are human beings, relationships, memories, and people whose contributions can never be measured by market capitalization. Graig, wherever your memory lives, thank you for showing up for AIDE. Thank you for believing enough to act. You will not be forgotten. 🕊️❤️ So, what happens from here? I keep building. I reach for higher grounds. I pursue better opportunities, find new ways to put $AIDE before the right people, and work towards bringing this vision closer to reality. I may not be where I expected to be after one year, but I refuse to let disappointment become the end of the story. To everyone who rejected AIDE, I hope you look at us today and see that we’re still standing after a full year. 😄 There’s still room to come on board, contribute, and build with us.
