In three months, it’ll be six years since my wife and I lost our first child, Robin. We will miss them forever. In July, I’ll be walking 500,000 steps to raise money for @tommys. Please read more at the link below, and donate/RT if you can. Thank you. 🩶

Has anyone written a think piece or conducted a scientific study into why people are just totally fucking oblivious to others now? I’m a chill guy, but the number of folk just stopping in doorways, on streets, all over for no apparent reason with no self-awareness is MADDENING.

This might be one of the best films of the year.
The BFI London Film Festival is in full swing, and our Reviews Editor John Nugent and Social Media Editor Harry Stainer sit down to discuss the film they think is the standout.
FORGOTTEN ISLAND is one of my favourite studio animated movies from the past decade
The Hangover meets Breath of the Wild meets Filipino mythology, it feels more like a video game movie than most actual video game movies

REVIEW: Wildwood is an astonishing stop-motion spectacle from Laika. A serious yet playful tale of grief and loss, it makes you believe in magic – as all great animation should.

Once again I am compelled to ask a very simple question: Did the film get made? And whenever the answer is yes, that’s pretty much all I need to know. Wildwood’s existence is the thing. Everything else is cream and marshmallows.
Laika’s ’WILDWOOD’ is early tracking to earn only $6M-$10M on its domestic opening weekend.
• Budget was of around $100M
• One of the lowest openings for an animated film in 2026

Pure poetry in stop-motion, and an instant entry in the annals of fantasy greats. If stop-motion Lord Of The Rings was the aim, then Wildwood hits its target clean and true. Laika’s latest has been sixteen years in the making. Each of its 132 minutes are destined to live forever.

Tom Waits is giving an all-time great voice performance in Ray Gunn, it's kinda nuts. I mean, I know he has the Tom Waits voice already so it's an unfair advantage. He could've phoned that in but he brings so much personality and emotion to his character. It's really cool.

Lanterns’ finale cements the season’s place among the decade’s best. A story about codes and programming and the gravitational pull towards — and personal push back against — self-fulfilling prophecy ends with its ensemble embracing their broken parts and forging something new.
As someone with a complicated relationship with my own father, my family, and with a bone-deep fear of breaking a cycle of trauma I inherited (and what breaking it may mean for me), I found this whole series at once painfully raw and yet also unexpectedly, profoundly cathartic.
