I had always told myself that if I could ever find the means or a viable pathway into filmmaking, I would try again. AI video generation is turning a corner. Anyone who has watched @Gossip_Goblin knows that it is possible to use the tools to create real immersion and feeling. Also, to go beyond the endless 30s demo-slop and create real narrative, with an original world, with real characters. I have been fascinated with psychological horror. Oddities in framing, composition, setting, dialogue that will both deeply unsettle the viewer while drawing their curiosity deeper, leading them through the character's unconscious, repressed psyche. Jung calls this "shadow work," where an individual explores or confronts their shadow in order to integrate it. As a warm-up before my first short, I want to try and match some of the greatest, most original forms of psychological horror and adapt them into renders from current photo or video models. While exploring Silent Hill's influences, I came across Francis Bacon, a painter from the 1950s who created some of the finest nightmare fuel ever manifested outside of, well... real nightmares. Man in Blue is one of those. A man with a distorted face caught in violent motion, in an extremely dark blue room, off-center, the frame mostly dark latent space. Using GPT Image 2.5, I began to examine what a modern version would be, complete with a more digital, cubic distortion, as a GPT could never replicate the work Bacon does with brushes. This photo is where I got. It's very different, but in my mind, a similar feeling. It's nothing I could use for video, but it helps me learn how to orient models toward producing emotion — which I think will help me in upcoming production.

Wei DAO has no founder share. .wei names are the only votes. Wei DAO is "conviction voting". No bureaucracy. No schedule. Proposals accumulate weight. Pass if they meet a threshold. Owning protocols is cool. If they are actually DAOs.
Wei Name Service is now a proper DAO! Owned entirely by the WNS NFT holders. Introducing: Wei DAO (WNS on ETH).

2019: Chuds tell you crypto is useless. It'll never happen. Pack it up. Go home. 2026: Chuds tell you crypto is useful, but only for CeFi. That's it. Nothing else. Lesson: Ignore the Chuds. Onwards.

They get it. Culture matters. Incentives matter. Coordination matters. Take the time to read the whole thing this weekend. Don't think we can attribute *all* of ETH's recent price action to this release 😏.... but it's bullish Ethereum, @OctantApp, and all of us.

I woke up this morning thinking: "What the industry really needs to succeed is another conference." One where all the people who just saw each other at the last conference could see each other again. One sort of far for most people and in an expensive city, where VC-backed startups could burn precious cash flying a team of BizDev folks to (so they can go to fancy drinks paid for by other VC-backed startups) One where "pay to play" sponsors are given keynotes to talk their press clippings. One where other "pay to play" sponsors get to have people appear on panels where everyone agrees on topics there should be a lot of disagreement over. And one where a bunch of randos and nubes could rudely disrupt @mert to the point of losing the few hairs he has left. If that doesn't onboard the next 1 billion users, I don't know what will.

no good app is going to succeed or fail depending what chain they build on but lots of good chains will succeed or fail depending what apps they get to build on them

Good. We can either be the bastion for permissionless expression and innovation. Or the self-appointed CT morality police.
Replying to @DrNickA
Ethereum people need to understand that whatever moral high ground on Solana they thought they had, has gone now.

Speculative content is a good thing actually.

the culture + context of crypto has been so negative that it has made it so creators are terrified of even experimenting with the single most powerful economic technology we have invented — a coin that seems like something we need to fix, urgently.

The cofounder of pump.fun pearl-clutching because @jessepollak *gasp* launched a coin, is peak cope-maxing. Makes me think @zora is on to something.
I think there’s a reality where what base did is normal in a few years’ time but it DEFINITELY isn’t today and that has resulted in hurt I’m a huge advocate for the vision of “tokenizing everything” but you can’t change current market realities - if you launch a coin AND have social influence, that comes with responsibility: namely, the responsibility to stick to this space’s social standards to a tee - don’t launch or shill other coins, don’t set high expectations, don’t talk about price, etc. these social standards aren’t dictated by myself, pump fun, Coinbase, or the President they’re formed by the users that are in the trenches every single day

The pearl clutchers are wrong about @zora. It's a slick product. People speculate. And once creators see what they could possibly earn, it has a real chance of actually attracting real content. Stop whining. Celebrate people out there building cool shit.
