Who Should We Attack Defensively? Built this Sportscode window to help answer that question when scouting. It tracks each defender’s PPP across different play types (PnR, ISO, handoffs, cuts, etc.) and compares their performance to the team average. I also wrote a script that automatically grades each defender from elite to weak based on their performance. No manual grading needed. The goal isn’t just to find the weakest defender. It’s to figure out HOW we should attack them. The data points us toward the matchup. The film tells us why.

Introducing the Playbook Series. Paid subscribers to the Substack will get access to this feature. My goal is to roll out about 1 a week. These will be different than my normal breakdowns as they will feature more film and less written analysis. First one is live right now!

Full breakdown featuring the sets, concepts, & details that made Slovenia U18 the most efficient offenses at EuroBasket U18 ⬇️ substack.com/@coachcadenhoff…
Slovenia U18🇸🇮: Swing Step-Up - Keep Another really nice wrinkle out of this set from Slovenia. I love when teams find ways to maximize the advantages they can create out of actions that they already run a lot of. In this instance Slovenia finds a way to steal a couple layups from a designed "keep" to attack the basket when the rim help is pulled away.
