Not been on here anywhere near as much as I’d hoped to with a tour to promote but been struck down with a crippling bout of health anxiety I think what started me feeling weird was my Aunty Christine passing away. She was one of my favourite people in the whole world. When I was a kid my parents worked a lot on shifts. My Nanan was old and frail and Grandma lived in Workington and so we spent a lot of time at Aunty Christine’s. She was more like a Nanan than an Aunty tbh. She was simply magic. Crazy tales about a fictional wolf called Walter. A naughty sense of fun. Always making costumes and letting us watch films that me mum said were too old for us. And then there is the music. Her and Uncle Terry loved all the old classics. Their house was the party house but they also loved the proper tunes. Elvis and especially Patsy Cline are always going to be synonymous with their red brick house on the Springvale estate at Upperthorpe. Later when me and me Dad used to clash and I’d leave home in a temper every other weekend , it’d be Aunty Christine’s that would be my sanctuary. She’d send me off to the Scarborough Arms with Uncle Terry to sink a gallon of Wards before sending me home again. But most of all it’s the love of football that she gifted us. Our dad wasn’t that arsed about footy. It was Aunty Christine who lived it deeply. She’d have played too if she’d have been a young un now. She was the lionesses biggest fan. For me a little light from my childhood has gone out and so I don’t think it’s a coincidence I feel a bit off balance right now Sleep tight Aunty Chris. Absolutely adored you ❤️

Sincere Condolences from everyone at @Buxton_FC RIP, Ben: all of our thoughts are with Bens family and those associated with @ChesterFC 💙
It is with deep shock and sadness we announce that Chester FC Director Ben Duggan has passed away. Ben was a co-opt to the City Fans United Board over the summer and died suddenly last weekend. At the age of 33, Ben was our youngest Director and brought a new and refreshing dynamic to the Boardroom. He had taken on the Fan Engagement and Membership portfolio, and in that short time had produced a strategy that promised to improve many areas of the club. In his memory, the players and staff will be wearing black armbands during Saturday’s fixture against Worksop Town. Our thoughts and condolences are with Ben’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗥 𝗞𝗜𝗥𝗕𝗬 After yesterday’s game, Connor was taken to Manchester Royal where a double leg break was confirmed. He is due to be transferred to Sheffield for surgery. Kirbs is well in himself and has been in contact with us. He’s keen to let Bucks fans know he’ll be doing everything he can to get back as soon as possible! All the best, Skip! 💙 #CaptainKirby | #TeamBuxton

An extremely difficult time for our football club @Buxton_FC Charlie was a gentleman , he always wanted to help, make things better and do the right thing. We will always remember Charlie. He always will be a part of us and never forgotten. Rest in eternal peace,Charlie. 💙
It is with profound sadness that Buxton Football Club announces the passing of our much-loved colleague and friend, Charlie Creswell, at the age of 72. Following a medical emergency last Friday, Charlie sadly passed away today, surrounded by his family. Club Chairman David Hopkins said: “Charlie dedicated many years of service to Buxton FC, including our Academy, and was a hugely respected and valued member of our football club. His unwavering commitment, hard work, and friendship touched countless players, staff, volunteers, supporters, and visitors. More than anything, Charlie was a true gentleman whose presence around the club will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, and particularly his wife, Elaine, at this incredibly difficult time.” Rest in peace, Charlie. 💙

An unbelievably hard and emotional end to our week. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Charlie for the last 24 hours. I’m Incredibly proud of our young group of players, for the solidarity , compassion and maturity they have shown at this time. @Buxton_FC
GAME OFF Our game against Dagenham & Redbridge FC tomorrow, Saturday 25th July, has been cancelled due to a medical emergency involving First Team coaching staff member Charlie Creswell. Charlie is in a stable but critical condition at a local specialist hospital. Both the players and management team have decided that, out of respect for Charlie, the game should not go ahead. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our travelling supporters and to our hosts, Dagenham & Redbridge FC, who have been fully supportive of our decision. We ask for everyone’s understanding, and we are sure you will join everyone at Buxton FC in sending our love and best wishes to Charlie and his family at this most difficult time 💙

What a journey......... This is a really emotional post for me because @swfc has always meant more than just a job. As a fan of the club, having the opportunity to work with and help develop some of the best young players in the academy has been a genuine privilege
