We used planet formation model to investigate the possible trends of atmospheric metallicity, highly relevant to JWST observations. We found that emerging mass-metallicity relation depends on typical planet formation location.

Hycean planets (ocean worlds with H-rich atmospheres) are thought to be promising spots for life, particularly around M-dwarfs, with the habitable zone being much wider than it is for terrestrial planets. But there's a twist...

Well over $20B in taxpayer, paid for assets being thrown away for a savings that's literally pennies on those dollars. I'm all for shrinking waste and increasing efficiencies in our government, but this is neither. science.org/content/article/…

Thank you, Representative Lopez, for standing by the Asian community in Texas during this difficult time.
This week, I met with Asian Americans leaders from around the state to have a critical conversation about protecting civil rights in Texas. We held an important virtual discussion on HB 17 and its dangerous implications. This bill doesn’t just raise national security concerns — it opens the door to racial discrimination, fear, and exclusion. From unchecked executive authority, criminal penalty without due process, and banning people from living in urban areas sets a troubling precedent. HB 17 sends a message that certain individuals are not welcome in Texas — and that’s unacceptable. #txlege #strongtexas #hd125

After 11 hours of testimony before the Texas House Homeland Security, Public Safety, and Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee, I want to thank the over 100 people who traveled from every corner of our state to make their voices heard on House Bill 17.
Your dedication to engaging with this process is seen and valued. Your courage to stand up for your rights and the principles of fairness and justice is what makes our democracy strong.
I entered this legislative session committed to ensuring Texas is protected from foreign adversaries. But legislation that sacrifices equity for political expediency does not make us safer—it undermines our integrity.
The Committee Substitute for House Bill 17 goes far beyond security. It introduces criminal penalties without due process, arbitrarily expands executive power, and punishes law-abiding Texans who happen to live near airports or borders.
We can protect Texas from legitimate threats without trampling on the rights of those who are simply striving for a better life. Many of the individuals who testified today are members of Asian communities across Texas who fear this bill will unfairly target them and their families. Their concerns are real, and their experiences matter.
I cannot support legislation that undermines the principles of justice and equality. As this bill continues through the legislative process, I will work to ensure that we find the right balance—security without sacrificing equity.
Thank you for your passion, your presence, and your powerful testimonies. Our fight for justice continues.

2024 NASA received 3 times less of the federal budget than 1991 NASA did.
I don't think the public fully grasp just how strained NASA already was pre-DOGE. Further cuts will destroy NASA's pre-eminence.

These dots are gas giant exoplanets captured by Webb's camera - the clearest infrared look we've gotten yet! Webb also detected carbon dioxide and heavy elements in the planets - evidence they may have formed in the same way as Jupiter and Saturn. go.nasa.gov/4iAM9Mt

ALT This image shows the planetary system HR 8799. The background is black. At the center there is a symbol representing a star labeled HR 8799. The star’s light is blocked. There are four exoplanets, which look like fuzzy dots, pictured surrounding the star. Furthest from the star is a fuzzy, faint blue dot, labeled b, at the 10 o’clock position. At the 1 o’clock position, second furthest from the star is a blueish-white fuzzy dot labeled c. Just below that is an orange dot labeled e. At the 4 o’clock position, still near the star, is another fuzzy white dot labeled d.
