Thank you @JonesJolanda for exposing Greg Abbot and republicans school voucher scam for rich WHITE folks.
White students constitute approximately 24% of Texas public school enrollment, yet they comprise roughly 41% of the students utilizing school vouchers.
This discrepancy raises eyebrows.
I was present when this legislation was enacted. Texans were misled into believing that vouchers would assist low-income families in enrolling their children in better schools.
Now, the true beneficiaries are becoming evident.
Taxpayer money is being used to subsidize private school tuition, while Black and Brown children from working-class families continue to attend public schools that Texas refuses to fully fund. ✊🏾
Black children deserve investment, Brown children deserve opportunities, and working families deserve better than to witness their tax dollars being diverted from their neighborhood schools. 📚
Be truthful. Fund public schools. Cease the deception. 🏫
