All 12 offensive snaps from Marvin Harrison Jr.'s Texans debut vs. the Jaguars.
Just 10 pass plays, but a lot to like:
-91.1 PFF offensive grade
-3 catches on 4 targets, 34 yards (11.3 Y/R)
-All 3 receptions were first downs
-3.78 yards per route run
-12.3-yard aDOT
-1 contested catch
-30% of snaps from the slot
- +0.51 EPA/play across his 12 snaps (+6.15 total)
What stands out to me beyond the production is his physicality. He's a big, physical receiver who consistently beats press coverage and rarely gets rerouted off his landmarks. He also has a really good feel for finding the soft spots in zone coverage.
Those are two things I've been harping on Texans receivers needing to improve over the last couple of years.
Also some really encouraging effort and execution as a blocker, both in the run game and on passing plays, including Jaylin Noel's explosive catch and run.
For a guy who was just traded, had to learn a new offense and traveled across three time zones in the same week, there's a lot to be encouraged about from these 12 snaps.

Look at the block from Marvin Harrison Jr. on Jaylin Noel’s explosive play off the option route. Also ran a good route himself and was open on the curl.

I’m a broken record every week “Have a Pressure Plan”! Today, CJ Stroud's Pressure Plan was the difference in the game vs Jags! This #StudyBall made me feel warm & fuzzy! Enjoy!!

Even with Fred back and the addition of Marcus Smart I asked Ime if Reeds shooting makes it a necessity that he is still part of the rotation.
“Yes, Reed will be a huge part of what we do.”

CJ Stroud week 6 highlight tape. The tape every week is unreal at this point.

I really don’t think CJ Stroud is getting enough credit for the level of quarterbacking he’s playing right now.
The numbers speak for themselves, but the context makes them even more impressive.
He’s pushing the ball downfield, throwing into tight windows at one of the highest rates in the NFL, and ranks 2nd in completion percentage over expected (+6.7%).
And he’s doing all of this while facing pressure on more than a third of his dropbacks, playing two games without Nico Collins, and getting little support from a rushing attack averaging just 3.4 yards per carry and 79 rushing yards per game, the second fewest in the NFL.
Despite that degree of difficulty, he has ZERO interceptions and ZERO turnover worthy throws according to Fantasy Points & PFF.
He’s not protecting the football by playing conservatively, either. Through the first four weeks, Stroud had the second-lowest checkdown rate in the NFL (4.0%), while ranking among the league leaders in average depth of target and tight-window throw rate.
He’s attacking downfield, making aggressive, anticipatory throws, navigating pressure, and taking care of the football at an exceptionally high level.
Really impressive quarterbacking from Stroud this season, and I think there’s still plenty more to come. 🙏

The dots for the CJ Stroud to Kayshon Boutte on 3rd & long vs the Titans reveals an even more impressive throw by Stroud.
Ball is out well before Boutte breaks back and throws him low & away from defender.
This also ranked as the second most improbable completion of the year with a 9.2% completion probability per @NextGenStats
