Most people are still barely competent at driving on the road
Elon Musk unveiled Tesla's long-awaited Roadster on Thursday, claiming the electric sports car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than a second, reach speeds of 230 mph and even fly. The vehicle reportedly uses thrusters to achieve its extreme acceleration, though details about its flight capabilities remain unclear. Tesla says production is expected to begin in 2028, with no price announced.
Among the districts just moved from toss up to tilt D by Inside Elections + @JacobRubashkin :
PA7 and PA8
People in parties have long said PA7 is the most likely flip in PA. The 8th looked better for Rs based on the district demographics - would be a major flip if it happens

“What about us?”
This captures Laura Lytle so perfectly. She yelled it on 1/6 to Capitol Police on Senate floor during evacuation, getting us & staff to safety.
I recall it so clearly. Yet it’s how she approached her job with us every day. RIP.

Fox News poll:
Top concerns:
1. Corruption in government
2. Inflation and high prices
3. Gas prices
Early in my time covering Congress the Senate was doing Senate stuff and I asked Laura what was happening and she explained the Senate is basically Calvinball - they can make up the rules as they go.
So much of the job clicked into place for me after that
This is so sad. Laura was fantastic. A tremendous resource to reporters covering the Senate and just very very kind.
This is such a gutting loss. We love you, Laura. The absolute best of the best. rollcall.com/2026/10/15/jour…

Me and Ilhan Omar are far apart policy wise. I’m pro life, she’s pro abortion. I’m pro 2A, she’s pro gun control. And on and on.
But can someone tell me how pretending to get ready to deport Ilhan Omar is going to bring gas down under $2, make health insurance freaking affordable, make a family’s weekly grocery bill make sense, and stop sending our beloved military off to fight for another fucking foreign war???
People are so sick and tired of the bullshit.
When you dumb mf’ers at the WH actually release the Epstein files and lock up the pedophiles and rapists you all hang out with, then we will start paying attention.
Until then 🖕.

Kimberly Guilfoyle and Pete Hegseth have managed to find lines that made even Donald Trump say "yeah, that's a bit much"
Bob Casey is still in the game (kind of).
His campaign fund gave $500k to the DSCC last month + donations to Pitt and Pick Pennsylvania - which is trying to bring the Dem nat'l convention to Philly
All spotted by my great colleague @greggiroux
but did any Ukrainian officials chastise the Americans for failing to wear suits?
I am grateful to the U.S. congressional delegation – @SenatorWicker, @SenKevinCramer, @RepVeasey, and @RepDanCrenshaw – for being here with our people today amid virtually nonstop Russian attacks. Russia is not getting what it wants on the battlefield and is trying to make up for it through escalation. Throughout our entire meeting in Kyiv, the air raid alert remained in effect because of the threat of jet-powered “shaheds”. In the capital alone, and since the beginning of this month alone, the Russians have damaged two schools with these drones and struck bridges, energy, and other critical infrastructure.
We can only protect ourselves from this terror by working together, and we discussed how the United States can help save lives. Of course, we expect the Lindsey Graham Act to be implemented. This is a matter of political will, and it is now important to show leadership and fully cut off the financial flows sustaining Russia’s war machine. We also discussed other necessary steps, including expediting licensing for Patriot missile production. Ukraine is ready not only to produce ballistic missile interceptors for its own needs, but also to strengthen the United States and its allies through joint production.
I thank the United States for its unwavering support.

A Quip through and through, Mike Ditka was a living embodiment of Aliquippa and Western Pennsylvania toughness and excellence.
A Hall of Famer, a Pitt legend, and so much else, I extend my condolences to the Ditka family.
Rest In Peace, Iron Mike.
Sounds like a movie villain script
