Inspired by my daughter, I worked for 15 years to make Grandmother Fish a reality. Now it's in Italian, Chinese, and Japanese! Hoot hoot!

With Grandmother Fish, little kids mimic the sounds and motions of our ancestors as they learn the story of #evolution. There’s no other book like it. “Highly recommended for homes, schools, and libraries.” —School Library Journal @MacKidsBooks @MacKidsSL #ChildrensBooks
Ten years ago, this blog post by @bjkingape put Grandmother Fish on the map. It went viral, and my small run of self-published books sold out. Wish I'd printed a lot more copies! This question is just as timely today as it was 10 years ago. #evolution npr.org/sections/13.7/2015/1…

Trump to generals: Loosen up! Cheer for me! Or leave if you want. But in which case there goes your future <laughter>
An amazing scene. The only thing they find funny is when he alludes to his own authoritarianism.
No doubt about what they’re thinking.
So far I've given away a bunch of old games & raised $1872 for @PPFA. The project is on hold, but if someone wants to top me off with an offer of $128 + shipping they could get a lot of these cool, old minis. 1/2

Also still available, a big stack of French RPGs and gaming imagines. Several RPGs are by Croc. 2/2

Presumably we should be trusting RFK Jr, because he's not an expert
I wonder what the qualifications are for not being an expert

Tina Peters was convicted by a jury of her peers, and is serving a prison sentence for her crimes. I will not be intimidated by the Trump Administration’s threats. Colorado will always stand for the rule of law, even when the President refuses to do so.

God bless the independent judiciary, a pillar of the liberal order
Another 2020 media lawsuit settled: the conservative channel Newsmax just agreed to pay $67 to Dominion Voting Systems to settle their defamation lawsuit.
The trial was supposed to happen earlier this year but got postponed.
Newsmax also settled a case by Smartmatic earlier

Xenophon of Athens (430–355/354 BC) looked down on Persian prisoners of war because of their lighter skins (which he considered a feminine trait).
The Persian was regarded as an “effeminate slave” because of his white skin in contrast to the “masculine brown Greek”.
I liked conservatives better when they supported free speech, freedom of the press, and the Constitution. Trump is un-American.
Originally I supported legalizing online gambling because liberty. Now I'm against it because outcomes.
Smartphones bring porn & gambling to teens 24/7. Today we have our first post on what sports betting is doing to boys & young men (who are 98% of those with addiction).

If the executive branch won’t release phase 2 of the Epstein files, we will. Americans deserve transparency and the victims deserve justice.

2025 Donald Trump should listen to 2013 Donald Trump. He was right the first time.

We rallied yesterday in communities across the South to educate folks about what is coming because of the Big, Ugly Bill that just passed Congress. We must organize the pain that policy produces and refuse to accept unnecessary death. open.substack.com/pub/ourmor…

In 1979-80 I was hooked on RuneQuest. I was also, more importantly, a newlywed with all the emotions and new experiences involved. My friend, Steve, put me in contact with Greg Stafford, president of Chaosium (the publisher) and I told him I had created a lot of monsters for Runequest. He asked if there was enough for a whole book, and I thought there was.
Thus Gateway Bestiary was born. It was my VERY FIRST game publication. It’s “gateway” so Greg could disavow any of my creations which he didn’t want to have in his Glorantha canon. Like jabberwocks and polar bears (the latter are extinct in Glorantha for important mythic reasons).
Another “first” for the Bestiary was that it had a chapter of Lovecraft monsters – the very first official appearance of the Cthulhu mythos in any game as far as I know. (An article in Sorcerer’s Apprentice magazine is the only earlier find.) So I had shoggoths, deep ones, etc. all available for Runequest players.
When it was published, I was impressed to see that the word “Runequst” was misspelled right there on the cover. I blame the excellent artist Rick Becker, who did the entire cover as a single work of art.
