I was told people would stop burning cities once they had socialized medicine and high speed rail.

My Dad was dying. I asked @wolfpackclub if Amato could call Dad. He did, & it was a special moment. After Dad passed, I ran into Amato & thanked him for the call. He remembered it, got teary & we sat there hugging. THAT is who coach was. He loved people, like V. #GoPack 😔

Today is the start of Syracuse University’s annual Remembrance Week.  35 students studying abroad through the Syracuse University study abroad program returning home for Christmas were among the 259 passengers and crew members killed when a bomb detonated in the forward cargo hold of Pan Am 103 at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. 11 residents of Lockerbie were killed on the ground. Each fall, Syracuse University observes Remembrance Week to honor all 270 people lost in the attack. The chairs on the grass in front of Hendricks Chapel represent where each of the students was sitting in the 747 on the night of December 21.  In the wake of the tragedy, Syracuse established the Remembrance Scholarship as a tribute to the students lost, as a way to reflect and move forward in their memory. Every year, scholarships are awarded to 35 seniors, one for each student killed in the bombing.  The scholarship recipients focus on education and service, planning Remembrance Week and teaching the campus community about terrorism.  Honored and extremely humbled to have attended Syracuse University Remembrance Week last year and meet with families who lost loved ones on Pan Am 103.   The man accused of building the bomb that brought down Pan Am 103 was captured by a militia group in Libya in 2022.  He is now in United States custody awaiting trial, almost four decades after the attack.

Look at @JoshStein_ & @PatMcCroryNC hustling on that basketball court. With b-ball season right around the corner, this obviously obligates responsible #ncpol reporters to ask @RoyCooperNC if he's healthy enough to get up & down a b-ball court like those other NC Guvs! #ncsen
Bet you didn't know that in 2013 a sequel to Space Jam was filmed in Raleigh starring three then-unknown hoopers. Ultimately Warner Brothers opted to scrap the nearly finished film and replaced the hoopers with LeBron James. Space Jam 2 was finally released in 2021. #ncpol

The #ncpol rumor is that “Cease & Desist” doesn’t get him nearly as fired up as do “Non-Disclosure-Agreements.” 😳😬
Paging @BryanRAnderson. A campaign sending a cease and desist letter in response to journalist questions seems pretty outrageous, no?

Statement from Whatley spox: "It’s a temporary pause and we’ll be back on the air shortly with our closing message that may or may not ask voters why does our elderly opponent refuse to answer basic questions about his health and ability to serve in the US Senate." (1/2)

Democrats sent Marc Elias, the OG election denier, after a North Carolina news outlet because they sent multiple inquiries about Cooper's fitness for office. Is Roy Cooper the Joe Biden of North Carolina?

Seems notable that Roy Cooper is so sensitive to questions about his health that he has dark money election denier Mark Elias sending cease and desist letters as a response to basic media inquiries….

Totally normal to send your fancy lawyers after a reporter for asking a question. What is Roy Cooper hiding?

L. Graham suddenly died recently & M. McConnell’s health has caused concern. TV commentators question Biden & Trump’s health. A reporter asking re: a candidate’s health is normal. Why won’t @RoyCooperNC answer a basic health question instead of making threats? #NCSEN #NCPOL

How outraged would #NCPOL reporters have been if @PatMcCroryNC threatened the Freedom of the Press with a Cease-and-Desist lawsuit every time he didn’t like a reporter’s question? Will @RoyCooperNC get a free pass on trying to intimidate a reporter about a simple question? #nscen

The Texas Tribune was able to track thousands of trips Ken Paxton has made over the last 25 years but has no clue where James Talarico has been the past 13 days 🤷‍♀️
The Texas Tribune reported this morning that Ken Paxton took 1000 trips out of state as AG but only 138 could be verified as relating to state business. Almost all of the trips were with security supplied by DPS at a cost of millions to taxpayers. He took trips to his 15 out of state properties and to Albania, Aruba, Australia, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Poland, South Africa or Taiwan.
