The simplest I have ever seen it explained. Great post @EcomMikeGalvin When to A/B test: → Subject lines → CTA placement → Email layout → Hero copy When to hold out: → A new post-purchase flow → An incentive or direct mail program → A loyalty launch → Anything designed to change repeat rate or LTV A/B tells you which version won. A holdout tells you whether the program moved purchases.
Half the tweets in retention Twitter are A/B test results on flows. Open rates, click rates, conversion rates. When to A/B test: → Subject lines → CTA placement → Email layout → Hero copy When to hold out: → A new post-purchase flow → An incentive or direct mail program → A loyalty launch → Anything designed to change repeat rate or LTV A/B tells you which version won. Know your history --> "In the early 2000s, it wasn’t a bunch of “strategists” who created modern internet marketing. It was community, a *culture* of direct response entrepreneurs, who gathered together to figure out how to take the available technology and create a world where we could make a living, feed our families, and build our careers." - @PerryMarshall

Make me want to buy the Matic even more
Replying to @Dave_Duggins
How about you buy it, put it on local WiFi without internet, connect it with iPad app on the same WiFi without internet and if it doesn’t work then tweet at me? I understand the skepticism but if that’s the only approach we take then those us trying to right thing also can’t win. So may be put money where your tweet is just like we are with 6 months return? 😊😇🤗

This guy on Reddit just LEAKED the exact playbook he used to scale his ecom brand to $28M off TV commercials:

Such a great unlock. So many possibilities. Where can I find more details on this?
You can’t smell a screen. Pretty serious problem for a fragrance brand selling online. “Hints of sandalwood” can only go so far. So our friends at Dossier put the fragrance experience directly into the hands of their prospects. The team added our new scratch-and-sniff strips featuring two best sellers, Woody Sandalwood and It Factor, to a postcard. Now prospects considering a first purchase and lapsed customers thinking about trying another fragrance could experience the product before buying. Turns out “show, don’t tell” really works: - 3.24x+ incremental ROAS from post-welcome non-converters using MailMatch - 11.5x+ ROAS on each lapsed-buyer send From concept to mailbox, including scent matching, took only a few weeks. The best marketing doesn’t just deliver a message. It makes the product easier to understand, experience, and buy. This is an incredible use case for any brand where scent is part of the product experience - perfumes, candles, cleansers, and more. Love what we created with the Dossier team.

Many companies that offer agents should show pricing in hours or minutes and not months. Example being that instead of a 30 day trial should be 720 hours or 43,200 minutes. Agents are running all the time. The pricing needs to reflect that to showcase and emphasize the benefit. groupthink.com/pricing/ @DanielleMorrill

A perfect use case of when to use the product ladder to find/discover the gaps (which can then decide new products) thus these moments? Here is the product ladder showing the current gaps for Ridge (which I am sure @Seanfrank is actively working on) productladder.howtomovethene… This diagnostic maps your catalog onto that curve so you can see covered, thin, and missing tiers — then estimate what filling a gap could capture. Also this is a perfect compliment to the Layered Cake of Quadratic Growth by @asmartbear and how campaigns need to be layered on top of one another. longform.asmartbear.com/expo…
“Spending Power”, a core input of our forecasting model, measures Spend needed to increase ACONS (Ad Cost of New Sales) 1 point. In MOST cases a brands spending power declines over time. (Image #1) As they reach out further into the customer curve each new dollar invested generates less value. BUT some brands can overcome these physics and see their spending power INCREASE over time (Image #2) The primary cause of changes in your spending power? Any guesses? Wanna know? New product and marketing moments. Both create novel curves that break the descending pattern of the current system.

When you know they have read Drilling Down by Jim Novo without telling me.
A flow can be credited with revenue and create zero lift. Attribution asks: did someone buy after the email? A holdout asks: would they have bought anyway? One measures sequence. The other measures causation. If you've never held out, you've never measured your email program.

A lot was learned going through the good and bad ones. Benchmarking them helped to understand and separate the great ones

worth following along as he is leaving the platform soon
I only have a little bit more time with you guys so I’m gunna try to pass on as much of my knowledge as I can. Will be deleting this whole profile and all my others when I go because I’m the type that needs to burn the boats in order to truly move on. I know things that I say are very contrary to the things your gurus say. But you have to understand… 1. I made my first million when your guru was still in high school. 2. Your gurus guru, was likely my client at some point. 3. I too once thought the way they did, found out it was a trap as they’ll soon realize (we all saw Hormozi on Tony Robbins), and now I’m trying to warn of the traps. If you prefer not to listen, by all means, enjoy your life. 4. Not everyone who makes business content is doing so FOR YOUR SUCCESS, many… MANY… are knowingly lying just because it makes money… lots of money. Maybe one day when I’m fully out of this space I’ll name names 🤷‍♂️ I’ve had a wonderful and successful 20yrs in this space. Have truly changed some peoples lives and that matters more than any of the money I made. Their stories still exist while the money I made was spent and is gone now. Focus on the people, it’s the only thing that’s real and lasting in this space. Employees are not an expense or a risk, they are your next best friend, your next business partner, the people who will high five your wins and drink beers with you in your losses. Sure it might be possible to make X dollars in 90 days but guess what… you’re probably going to live longer than 90 days. Think bigger. If you plan to be alive in 10-20yrs, make some wild crazy 10-20yr level goals. Cuz guess what… you’ll probably live that long and thank yourself! Remember… you need today money AND tomorrow money. I know times are tough today, but if you never MAKE TIME for tomorrow money ideas then you’ll forever have today money problems. Long money > quick money I’ve got a lot more to share over the next couple of months. I don’t want to make fun of your gurus the entire time. So I’m not going to preface everything I say with “I know this sounds crazy but..” Take it or leave it. Follow, don’t follow, whatever, I’m on my way out and leaving with my best stuff before I go. That’s how I’ll be able to sleep well when I’m gone, knowing I did it right. ✌️❤️

This guy took and audited 3,000 ecom quizzes across 27 benchmark points... Most of them failed for the same reasons. Wrong first question. Bad email gate. Zero-party data that never touched a single flow. That's why @ecomchasedimond and I sat down with @JonathanDrake to break down what actually separates the best quiz funnels from the rest. We dug into his findings, walk through his scoring framework, and break down what you should rethink before launching your next quiz. Watch the full episode here: youtube.com/watch?v=NilkupCq… Big shout to to @omnisend and @Retentiondotcom!

When I see data like this I naturally ask the next questions. Here is the answer fsb.howtomovetheneedle.com/ A Interactive Acceptance + National Titles site. Can filter and sort by year, conference, sport(s). Then built it to include graduation rate. Give feedback here One data source paints a picture. Two can tell a story. @SMB_Attorney
