One week to go until our Remembrance game against Blackpool, and we're turning the North Stand into a giant poppy display. Sat in the North Stand on Sunday 1st? Be in your seat early, find your flyer and hold it up when asked. Let's make it one to remember. #SWFC #LestWeForget

We’ve had some brilliant boxers come out of Sheffield over the years, some with egos bigger than the city. Dalton Smith couldn’t be further from that. A proper down to earth Sheffield lad. No arrogance, no Billy Big Bollocks attitude, just a lad who works hard, loves his city and is proper Wednesday. Stops to talk to every fan, including our H. An credit Sheffield and our football club. Come on Dalton 🥊🔵⚪ #SWFC

NOLBERTO SOLANO on his first proper drinking session with Newcastle teammates Steve Howey and Duncan Ferguson: “They called themselves ‘The Heavyweights’. They said, ‘Hey, little Peruvian, want to come for a pint?’ Of course, why not? I’m sociable. “In Peru, the tradition is that you get a bottle of beer and share it with everyone in little glasses. Here, we went to the Pitcher and Piano. We were only there for about 45 minutes and it was bang, bang, bang with the pints. “We went to the next bar, then the next. At one point they bought some whisky and I was saying, ‘No, no, no, no, no mixing. Only beer.’ “I was mullered. We came out of the bar, I didn’t know where I was, it was dark and my watch said four o’clock. I rang my wife to apologise and said, ‘I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise it was so late.’ “She said, ‘What are you talking about?’ “I thought it was four in the morning. It was four in the afternoon.” Quite the introduction to English football.

I’m heartbroken re Noah Woods, and his family. But most of all, for his grandfather. Please please be kind to him. He will be going through so much guilt right now, through no fault of his own, and his family are grieving….its a devastating outcome for them all

WILL VAULKS TO FUND SUICIDE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN 👏🏽💛 Former Oxford United player Will Vaulks will continue to fund its suicide prevention campaign, despite leaving the club over the summer… Vaulks signed for his boyhood club Tranmere Rovers in August, bringing an end to his two year spell at the Kassam 🥲 During his time in the city, the 32-year-old spearheaded the club's Can We Talk? campaign, focusing on mental health awareness in the workplace. Ryan Maher, who co-founded the scheme - which began in 2024 - alongside Vaulks, said: “None of this happens without Will. He's raised the profile of suicide prevention across Oxfordshire for two years, and even though he's moved on, his funding means we can keep training the community for the next 12 months." 🫡 An incredible initiative carries on ❤️

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. With that in mind, I wanted to remind you of this video produced by Norwich City; it remains one of the most profound things I've ever seen produced on the subject.

Suicide is not selfish. The causes leading to suicide can affect anyone. Do not judge people unless you know their circumstances. Around 75% to 76% of all suicides in the UK are male. Roughly 13 to 14 men die by suicide each day in the UK. Men aged 50–54 recorded the highest specific age rate in recent ONS registrations (27.5 per 100,000), though suicide is also a leading cause of death for younger men and boys under 35. If you or someone you know is struggling or in distress there is help out there. Check in on them. You can call Samaritans for free at any time day or night on 116 123 or call 111 for NHS mental health services. Please share. #Suicideprevention #MentalHealth
