3️⃣ Create opportunity: launch the London Future Ready Guarantee, pairing young Londoners with employers to co-design the new jobs, skills and career pathways AI will create.
2️⃣ Shape change: launch a London AI at Work Partnership, where employers, workers and educators redesign jobs together instead of simply automating them.
1️⃣ Act early: build an early-warning system that combines labour market data, employer insight and local evidence, so London can spot AI-driven change while there's still time to act on it.
"AI is inevitable. How work changes because of it is not."
Those are the words of this week's report from the London AI and Jobs Taskforce. Produced with the @FutureWorkInst and chaired by our Board member @Marthalanefox, the recommendations are clear ⬇️
The technology is working. The adoption isn't, not evenly, and not yet at the pace the sector needs. Building capability at every level of an organisation is what turns AI investment into AI outcomes🎯
Skills are rightly a priority. Delivery is what comes next.
The plan is clear that this isn't just about engineers and data scientists. It's risk managers, legal teams, boards and frontline staff who need to use and govern AI responsibly. That's the harder problem, and the right one to prioritise.
It's also the one we'd underline.
The Financial Services AI Adoption Plan, published yesterday by Chancellor @RachelReevesMP, gets something right that too many AI strategies miss: skills sits as one of five priority themes, sitting alongside regulation, sovereignty and resilience💡
