Today, Dr Cathy Foley, Australia's Chief Scientist, issued a recommendation to the government advocating for free access to research papers for all Australians. The Academy has long maintained that the advancement of scientific knowledge is best served through the free, open, and accessible distribution of high-quality peer-reviewed research.

I've been so excited about the launch of @ericries new show, and finally it's here! I've heard rumours that he has a lot of amazing guests lined up...
The first episode of my new podcast, The Eric Ries Show, is live! I'm in conversation with @samiinkinen, who co-founded Trulia, sold it to Zillow, then moved on to co-founding Vitra Health to pursue innovative treatment for type 2 diabetes.
We get into the details of everything from being a serial entrepreneur to going through an IPO, hiring talent, raising money with mission as your main selling point, why he decided to tackle diabetes, and so much more. I learned an incredible amount -- including what it's like to row from California to Hawaii, which he did along with his wife in between building companies. Sami's thoughts on leadership and why his native Finland does so well at maximizing human capital have stayed with me since we spoke, informing my own work.
I'm thrilled to be launching this first conversation out into the world. I hope you'll enjoy it and I look forward to sharing many more dynamic discussions about how to build better companies for a future that lifts everyone up with people who are bringing that vision closer every day.

Strategy for effective presentations/writing
Keep making your talk more opinionated until it reflects your true beliefs : don’t hedge. People want to hear what you think
Every time I do this it makes a huge difference. But it’s hard! I personally have to fight my cultural upbringing which values humility (Asian) more than confidence (Western)
