Uganda's justice system hits a new low with the head of the Judicial Service Commission Singiza Douglas openly endorsing Museveni's brutal, criminal son! The JSC is legally mandated to enforce the Judicial Code of Conduct , which strictly forbids judicial officers from engaging in partisan politics - both in and out of the courtroom. How is that body expected to discipline judicial officers who violate the Code when its very head is breaching the code with impunity? How are the citizens, who are opposed to the criminal regime expected to get justice under such a system? Those who fail to get justice after being abducted and violated by the criminal he is endorsing?! No wonder, Singiza, when he was still a magistrate he was famed for covering up the worst crimes against humanity, and reminding victims of torture. Our nation has hit rock bottom! We have a lot of work to resuscitate it! #FreeUgandaNow

48 days have passed since Baba TV journalist Eria Jjengo was disappeared on September 10, 2026. His whereabouts remain unknown. Jjengo left his newsroom in Ntinda, Kampala, to buy lunch. Witness accounts indicate that people in an unmarked vehicle intercepted him as he returned to work and forced him inside. His phone, laptop and other personal belongings remained at the office. The disappearance was reported to Kira Road Police Station on September 11. Jjengo had worked at Baba TV for more than four years, covering crime and security. His recent reporting included Uganda’s military cooperation with Rwanda and the Defence Minister’s appearance before a parliamentary committee. Article 23(4)(b) of Uganda’s Constitution requires an arrested person, if not released earlier, to be brought before a court within 48 hours. Article 23(5) provides for access to a lawyer and notification of the place of detention. Article 9(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights prohibits arbitrary arrest and detention, while Article 6 of the African Charter protects against arbitrary deprivation of liberty. If Jjengo is in state custody, authorities must disclose his whereabouts and ensure his constitutional rights are respected. If he is not, they must urgently investigate his disappearance, pursue the reported vehicle leads and establish his fate.

The issue with having a mad man on the village is that you don't have to first disturb his peace for him to stone you. And it doesn't matter who you are, he can stone anybody. So, ultimately, either the village collectively works on the mad man or it lets him aggress the villagers collectively.

This morning at high Court's Habeas Corpus hearing for Sam Mugumya, The military swore an affidavit denying holding him. The matter has been adjourned to November 9, 2026 to give the state more time to do 'further investigations" and as the deadline for the Attorney General to submit a report on Sam Mugumya’s whereabouts. #FreeSamMugumya

This morning, we went back to the High Court for a Habeas Corpus hearing for comrade Sam Mugumya, who has been missing for one year and 2 months now. The military swore an affidavit denying holding him, despite all evidence and previous admissions that he's in their custody. The matter has been deferred to 9th November to apparently give the state more time to do 'further investigations' and report back. #FreeSamMugumya
