You left out the part where you denied help from union linemen because you won’t pay union wages. People are dying every day. You should be held accountable for every cold related death. Why have you not asked @GovBillLee to deploy the national guard? Shame on your Monopoly.
Morning Message
From Teresa Broyles-Aplin, CEO and President, Nashville Electric Service
Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026
Many of you are waking up to day #5 without power, which is a significant hardship. It’s our job at NES to keep the power on, and we will not stop until every household in Nashville has power again.
This storm was unprecedented for Nashville and our country, affecting almost half of the U.S. Its icy layers caused widespread damage across our service area to transmission lines, substations and distribution networks.
At this storm’s peak, 230,000 Nashvillians were without power, the largest number ever. Today, we have less than 90,000 homes remaining without electricity.NES has brought in partners from around the country to engage additional available, qualified crews.
We’ve quadrupled our workforce in a few days, from 200 to almost 1,000 lineworkers from nine states and across Tennessee. We welcome this assistance and are grateful for the help.We still have many days ahead before power is restored to every Nashville household and will continue to provide frequent updates on individual neighborhoods via our website and social channels.
We do expect power will be restored for thousands more households today and tomorrow. For many, power will not be restored through the weekend or longer. We are prioritizing large blocks of homes and moving as quickly as we can. The temperatures hovering below freezing make the work tedious and slow, but we are using every possible resource to restore power quickly and safely to all. Please take all safely precautions in finding alternative shelter over the coming days and take advantage of Metro’s resources for safety. Nashville.gov
I will share updates with you every day until we are on the other side of this crippling storm. We are seeing acts of selflessness, determination and kindness all around us and are grateful to everyone for your partnership and understanding.

Dear @GovBillLee ,
I write politely to remind you that it is your duty, as an American leader, elected by the people of Tennessee, to protect us in times of need. It has become clear that @NESpower cannot handle the load. Please deploy @TNMilitaryDept @FoxNews People are dying.🙏🏼

🔥Today is the Day
The best rock band under 40 has just dropped their latest album! I've already listened to it three times, and it's nothing short of amazing. highlysuspect.net/
However, I can't help but feel a bit let down by the lack of political commentary. This is a departure from their previous album.
In these times, especially with the threat of Trump potentially becoming a dictator with extreme policies like death penalties for drug dealers and vicious prison sentences for drug possession, it's crucial for influential voices to speak up.
Hope all you guys have a great time!! Can't wait to see you!!🤟

Anyone else get the vibe that hammerhead sharks fell off? When I was a kid I felt like they were a top 2-3 shark, now I never think about them.
tour idea: i show up in your city, we all just have a house party at an airbnb under a false name and everyone scatters the next day before the owners get home
tour idea : Highly Suspect, Badflower, Dead Poet Society and we all take turns headlining and opening and every night one of the three bands has their “night off” and instead of playing just runs around handing out beers and free merch and crowd surf hyping / partying with the crowd and the tour never ends
Highly Suspect is dropping a song in 7 days and it’s not sucie machine.. its a never before heard song ever and i need you to get excited to cry HELLO ARE YOU LISTENING
A thread to the void.
When I was growing up, you couldn’t google anything. If you wanted to know something you would have to seek out the knowledge. A library, encyclopedias etc. And here is why this is important..
Anyway.. it’s just an observation. What’s going on in the world is absolutely disgusting. I know that the absolute best thing within my power to do is not to cry about it all, my shoulders weren’t made for that. No ones are. Instead, lead the day to day life in peace..
