I would urge everyone to be very careful with the “Starlink stole the election” posts.
There will be security audits — and if anything was fucky, we’ll find out about it — but so far, CISA has said they’ve seen no evidence of foul play.
Don’t act like the GOP. Wait for proof.

“There is no longer any excuse for failing to see what a second Trump Administration may bring,” David Remnick writes. “These are not the imaginings of a paranoiac. These are campaign promises announced from the podium.” nyer.cm/DnNJ0vV

ALT A quote from David Remnick, the editor of The New Yorker: “The mass deportation of undocumented immigrants. A federal government stocked with mediocrities whose highest qualification is fealty to the Great Leader. A contempt for climate policy, human rights, and gun control. A weakening of NATO. An even more reactionary Supreme Court and federal judiciary. An assault on the press.”

ALERT: Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) releases statement, "The day before the election, I was notified by the Margate Police Dept., located in my Congressional district, about a potential plot on my life. The individual in question was arrested not far from my home. He is a former felon who was in possession of a rifle, a suppressor and body armor. Found with him was a manifesto that, among other things, included antisemitic rhetoric and only my name on the ‘target’ list.”

There is not even a SCINTILLA of evidence that the election results were fraudulent. Vibes and disappointment are not credible theories. So, put up or shut up. Elections in the United States are free and fair. Full stop.

It has begun, a federal MAGA Judge has struck down the Biden Admin’s program shielding immigrant spouses from being deported.
If you’re an immigrant who voted for the orange felon, this is what you voted for and you idiots are in danger of this too, so I truly hope you enjoy it.

A hand recount? This is the same craziness we’ve heard from election deniers on the right for months and months now, which I have routinely said was nonsense. I am done fighting folks on this— if the math doesn’t math, show your work. Otherwise, this is conspiracy theory stuff.

Exactly, they should put up a hand recount of every swing State so we can shut up

Donald Trump won the election.
Tens of millions of Americans voted for him. I refuse to become one of the chorus of election deniers I’ve spent 4 years criticizing.
Americans made their choice, now we all have to live with the results. Unfortunately some more than others.

We’ve been working for months to prepare for another Trump term.
We’ve gone line by line through Project 2025. We’re ready to take on unconstitutional assaults on your reproductive rights, access to health care, and civil rights.
Elections have consequences, and presidents have a lot of power — that’s appropriate. But we will not stand by if the President exceeds his authority and acts unlawfully in a manner that harms Washingtonians. We will stand up for the Rule of Law.
And we won’t stop governing. We have a lot of work to do. I will fight to improve the lives of all Washingtonians, regardless of whom they voted for.

A quick thread as I watch some Democrats poke at the idea that there was something wrong with the election. There wasn't, and let's not find ourselves stoking the same conspiracies as election deniers just because our side didn't win. 1/

we've noticed how "elitist" has become not only a pejorative brandished by the right but by commentators (like David Brooks, who uses it often) with the intention to discredit; how a term that might mean "expert" (i.e., has studied, trained, has degree) is now meant to isolate & denigrate. but if you are diagnosed with a brain tumor would it not be plausible that you would want to engage an "expert"--"elite"--neurosurgeon? (would not even David Brooks opt for the elite party here?) what is most alarming is that we are moving toward a culture in which literacy itself will be considered "elitist."
this is a profound subject which mainstream media can't or won't confront because it marginalizes them. but we are likely to be moving into an age of illiteracy in defiance to literacy--now being called "elite"--when most people will access information/(mis)information from their cell phones in minuscule fragments. to us, the N.Y. Times is a major source of information: to them, print media scarcely exists.

When Christians can’t even acknowledge the sins of the person they support as president, let alone demand they repent from them, they reveal to the world that they have traded all moral and theological integrity for the sake of political power.

So…Ben Carson wrote the housing plan under Project 2025 (yes, that Dr. Ben Carson).
I won’t pull any punches…if you were saving to buy a house or move to an apt, get that done now.
