Happy anniversary, Kellie! In 2025 I was lucky enough to marry this incredible person who has stood by me through so many changes, ups, downs, triumphs, and struggles. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you. Here’s to many, many more ahead!
In honor of Autism Awareness Day, my team and I will be completing the Autism Friendly Training, a 30 minute training that will help us serve better serve every constituent we encounter. I encourage you to join us and take the training yourself!

We’ve taken action to:
✅Codify ACA protections into state law
✅Lower prescription drug costs
✅Protect Medicaid funding
✅Erase $144 million in medical debt
And so much more.
I’m ready to continue protecting Michiganders’ access to quality, affordable care and lower costs.
I am communicating with local, state and federal officials regarding the U.S. DOJ letter to Godfrey-Lee Public Schools. My primary concern is for the education of each student and I will look for ways to minimize the negative impact this federal action will have on the kids.
I am most troubled by the burden this will place on honest, hard-working, dedicated public school teachers and administrators who will be forced to divert attention away from the children in Godfrey-Lee’s classrooms.

Dangerously cold conditions today and tomorrow.
Please use caution if you must travel.
1) Keep warm gear in your vehicle.
2) Fill up your fuel tank before leaving.
3) Let someone know your route and estimated arrival time.
4) Call for help immediately if you become stranded.
Troopers are still dealing with preventable crashes and slide offs!
Slow down, drive cautiously, and give emergency vehicles plenty of room.
Remember, MSP troopers and other first responders are out there in these dangerous conditions, risking their lives and safety to help keep you safe.
Small steps can make a big difference in extreme cold. Stay safe.
This is a tragic day. A person unnecessarily lost their life to gun violence driven by, what can likely be attributed to, political motivations. I'm heartbroken and disgusted. My heart goes out to the loved ones of Mr. Kirk. We must strive to be and do better for one another. 🙏
Political violence is never the answer, and this is another disgusting act the has no place in our society. This cannot become commonplace in our country, and I hope that Mr. Kirk receives the care he needs for recovery.

Why should anyone go into debt just because they got sick or needed help? They shouldn’t.
That’s why Michigan is helping. This week, over 200,000 people in our state will have their medical debt erased. $144 million in debt is going away—for good!

Trump's "big, beautiful bill," is poised to set American progress back decades. I can't say it better myself, so let me share the words of Juan Proaño:
"It guts our nation’s moral fabric by placing walls, weapons, and fines where there should be help, hope, and humanity.”
House GOP wants to gut school funding and eliminate free meals for kids across Michigan.
House Democrats are fighting for a budget that puts students first: healthy meals, job training, rural support, and safe schools.
Michigan’s kids can’t afford these cuts.
President Trump, with the MI GOP cheering on, is hurting capitalists, labor, entrepreneurs, farmers, destabilizing the globe, and trashing our healthcare and education infrastructures.
Who wins under this Republican strategy?

In Kent County and across Michigan, families rely on Medicaid, SNAP and Medicare to access basic needs like health care, food and long-term care. Gutting these programs would be devastating not just to individuals, but also to the systems that serve them.
Michigan isn't the only state that will feel the impacts of Medicaid cuts. Democratic Floor Leader Rep. @JohnforMI calls to strengthen public services, because this budget isn't just about the numbers; it's about the real, everyday Michiganders impacted. housedems.com/fitzgerald-joi…
