An unusual window, the tracery and designed to be viewed from the enclosed staircase, lit by the room/outer window beyond. Fountains Hall @fountainsabbey In memory of two lost in WW2 As many gather with friends and family- remember those who will not be there, @BSMGP

it is lovely, although I fear the bike slightly undersize?
The Postal Museum archives yield more rejected treasures! I thought I might as well put "Nash" speculatively into the search box, and up came this handsome watercolour, pencil, & pastel poster design. Rejected by the Poster Advisory Group on 12 February 1936. @churchartnature

As it’s a chilly old day, make a pot of tea, put a blanket on your knees, shut your eyes for ten minutes and listen to short passages from the past. I’d be thrilled if you would join me☔️🤗 podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

Powerful painting.
Akseli Gallen-Kallela is famous for his illustrations of the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala, and for his vibrant and luminous paintings of Finland’s countryside and people, with this work 'Spring at Kalela,' at the turn of the New century, he achieved a stylistic culmination of his national romantic period of the 1890s.

It is a beauty, reminds me of a dear friend who loved her birds and especially the curlew on the hill above their cottage.
Curlew - by Scottish wildlife artist, Lucy Newton I could look at this glorious painting all day, and never tire of it. For @curlewcalls - because just as All Roads Lead to Rome... so All Curlews Lead to Mary Colwell #birds #birdart #nature #curlew

We monitored a lovely site on the Downs today. We retrapped 12 Tree Sparrows that we have ringed as nestlings in our nest boxes from sites at 3km away, 4 km away and 11km away. This helps us understand how Tree Sparrows move around the Downs. And... Aren't they beautiful! ❤️

A current signage standard wins on minimum visual impact but less so on informing the locals passing along the road in a vehicle or on the opposite pavement of the way to the park ? #fingerpostfriday
