With all the X accounts celebrating the Protestant Reformation & how it supposedly “saved” or “rediscovered” the Gospel, I figured a look should be given to what it really wrought. There was a significant departure from the early Church, which has only gotten worse.
This 1915 book sounds really good, especially as it seems to echo themes Vatican II would states nearly 50 years later. So this one goes into the “definitely read” stack!

The early Church helps us recognize the biblical canon. Shouldn’t it also help us understand the Bible? Scripture, the Fathers, & the danger of reading as though no Christian came before us.

You confuse using personal judgment with making it the final authority. Recognizing an authority doesn’t put you above it. Does your judgment that God exists & Scripture is His inerrant word give you authority over either?

Muslims seem to believe the oddest things. Even if we excise Paul’s epistles, and rely upon nothing else save the Gospels, Christianity & Islam are still very different from each other and incompatible.
Replying to @Boston_Boylan
Paul ruined the teachings of Jesus PBUH. You are not following Jesus PBUH. You are actually following Paul the ultimate murderer and persecutor.
This 1899 book by Patrick Francis Cardinal Moran looks really good & appeals to my heritage, so goes into the “definitely read” stack!
