There’s no greater honor than serving the people and the community that raised me. ❤️ I grew up here. I know the families, the neighborhoods, the hopes, and the challenges because I’ve lived them alongside you.  I love this community, and I’m committed to giving back, showing up, listening, and working to make the place we call home even better. From growing up here to serving here, this community will always have my heart.

From the first day of this campaign to today, we’ve been everywhere! Listening, showing up and doing the work. We’ve walked our neighborhoods, met with residents, visited local businesses, supported our local artists, attended community events, checked in on projects, and had countless conversations about what matters most to Ward 1. This video is only a glimpse of everything these past months have held. Now, with just one day until the Primary, we’re heading into the final stretch with the same energy and commitment we started with. 💪💙 #CommunityFirst #Ward1 #Providence

I’ve been a Fox Point “library kid” since I was four years old. 💙 For so many children growing up in Fox Point, the library and Boys & Girls Club were more than places to spend time after school. They were places to learn, grow, feel supported, and be part of a community. Especially for kids whose parents were working long hours to provide for their families. I was one of those kids. Those experiences have stayed with me throughout my life and continue to shape how I think about our neighborhoods today. Every child deserves safe, welcoming spaces where they can learn, belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Investing in our kids and the places that help them grow is an investment in the future of our community. 💙 #CommunityFirst #Ward1 #Providence #RI

No matter what day of the week it is, my favorite part of the job is always the same: spending time with the people who make Ward 1 such a special place. Every day, I’m ready to keep showing up and serving the community I love. ❤️ #communityFirst

There’s nothing better than connecting with neighbors about what’s happening in our neighborhood. Whether it’s a big issue or a small concern, these conversations help keep me informed and focused on what matters most. Always grateful for the neighbors who take the time to share their thoughts, ideas and concerns. This is what community looks like.

I’m grateful to the librarians and educators who took my curiosity seriously, helped me find the answers, and encouraged me to keep asking questions. Years later, after spending a decade as a fourth-grade teacher, I came to understand just how important that is. Every child deserves to have their curiosity encouraged, their questions taken seriously, and educators who take the time to help them find answers. That’s why education and supporting our students, teachers, and school communities will always matter deeply to me. Some things never change. 💙

I caught up with Loretta, a new resident at Tempo & Tandem, to hear what living here has meant for her and her family. For Loretta, an affordable home in Fox Point means living in a neighborhood she loves, feeling safe, being close to the places her family needs and giving her daughter and granddaughter the stability to focus on school as she works toward becoming a nurse. And for the youngest member of the family? The swings might just be the best part. 😊 And they’re still leasing. Reach out for the Check out the application! 🏠

127 new affordable homes are more than just numbers. They’re 127 opportunities for people to feel safe, secure and at home in their community. 🏡 At Tempo & Tandem in Fox Point, I had the chance to speak with one of the new residents about what having an affordable home here means to her. This is why we fight for affordable housing, so people can afford to live in the neighborhoods they love, stay connected to their communities, and truly feel at home. 💙

I grew up in this neighborhood and saw the impact that displacement had on families in Fox Point. That’s why moments like this mean so much to me. Together, Tempo and Tandem have transformed what was once a surface parking lot into 127 new homes, including deeply affordable, workforce and market rate apartments, along with 50 new childcare seats, neighborhood retail, public open space and pedestrian friendly connections to Fox Point and City Walk. Creating deeply affordable housing means giving families the opportunity to return, stay in the community they love and build a future here in Providence. This is what’s possible when public and private partners come together with a shared vision: turning former parking lots into homes, opportunity and hope for our community. Proud to celebrate another important step toward keeping Providence affordable for the people who call it home. 🏡💙

Again, exciting news for Ward 1! 🎉 Work is officially underway to make our streets and sidewalks safer, smoother and more accessible for everyone. We’re installing new curb ramps to improve ADA accessibility for neighbors who use wheelchairs, families with strollers, and anyone who depends on accessible sidewalks. And we’re also repaving Waterman Street from the Henderson Bridge all the way to Prospect Street! 🚧 Proud to keep delivering improvements that make Ward 1 more accessible, safer, and better for everyone. 💙 #putting_our_community_first  #ward1
