Proof of work relies on miners. A network forcing miners to front power, hardware, and infrastructure for a year will fail. That’s not how this business works. 45 days was extreme but acceptable if paid within 60 days, per traditional NET 30/60/90 terms. Claiming we or the developers do this for anything but fiat is wrong. These developers and maxis pay internet bills, send their wives to Costco, and donate to church in dollars. None of this works if you can’t keep the lights on or send kids to school. Nobody wants BTC, not even a fake improvement, regardless of spam. BTC is old, outdated, slow, and expensive to produce. It’s not for mainstream use. kaspa:native is the PoW closest to the ethos these plebs dream of. They’re stuck in the same boat as BTC, whose only path to success is the Lightning Network—a Layer 2 crutch, not Layer 1 PoW, that centralizes efforts further into oblivion with SHA-256 BTC that you loathe.

Steam games can drain your wallets via malware. The safer way to hold self-custody is in a clean computer, not one you just bought. A formatted and clean, windows only installer, fresh computer. A step further would be to host/build your own server and run separate VMs for each software-native wallet. I’ve was gifted 3 ledger wallets over the years and never once felt they were safe. I sold them all and never regretted it. I would never get a tangem or trezor either.
