The wife and I recently got the squits whilst at Center Parcs. We soon ran out of underwear and were left with no choice but to put them in the dishwasher - worked wonders, would definitely recommend.

There was a vigil for October 7 today in Glasgow - one of the speakers was @blairmcdougall.
Unfortunately it was almost impossible for him to be heard as police allowed pro Palestine demonstrators to set up next to the vigil and attempt to drown it out.

At today’s anti-Israel march in London, a man was seen with a sign that appeared to declare his “love” for “October”.
Also on the sign are the words “long live resistance” alongside an inverted red triangle.
In recent months, the inverted red triangle and its emoji variant have been used by some anti-Israel activists to signal support for proscribed terrorist organisations such as Hamas, inspired by the appearance of the symbol in Hamas propaganda videos to indicate targets for attack.

After spending a lot of time this past year looking at school systems in other countries, the UK's obsession with school uniforms seems bizarre to me now. So much time/energy wasted on arbitrary infringements which would be far better served on other things.
The idea that anarchy will reign without school uniforms seems to be an article of faith with many UK school leaders but I'm not sure what the evidence is for that. Many countries have no uniform requirements for example United States, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland. And there is no real evidence that it leads to better academic outcomes either - the top performing country on PISA for example is Estonia which generally does not require school uniforms.
There is also a cost-benefit imbalance where the level of resentment that strict policies instil in some kids seems to far outweigh any benefits. A lot of kids are completely turned off school for having a long fringe or hair shaved too short. That's ridiculous.
I'm aware of the purported benefits of uniform and there are many strong arguments in favour of them but the opportunity cost just doesn't make sense to me. 🤷♂️

Presumably Robert is furious at whoever was in power for the last 14 years and didn't implement this simple solution in time to stop this day of shame.
Your manifesto in 2017 was to remove it and many of your colleagues were proposing it recently.
