Hey folks -- if you have an extra $1 lying around and you'd like to see this handsome fella grace a can of beer from the good folks at Good Neighbour Brewing (or just help the Winnipeg Humane Society do the awesome work they do), follow the link to vote! gogo.photo/515594

I love this entry on “trite expressions” from an old @WinnipegNews style guide in the @wag_ca exhibit. Pretty sure I’ve gently removed a few of these from copy myself.

Here’s my mom getting her Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal for a lifetime of volunteer service to @TownofMorris from @HStefansonMB and MLA Blaine Pedersen. She is not on Twitter, so I can’t @ her, so I’ll just have to tell her I’m pretty damn proud of her in person. At some point.

Today I was paid what may be the highest compliment a Canadian can get from a stranger on the street — “nice tuque.”

If you don’t believe me, here’s a pic from my April 25 run — less than eight weeks before race day. The temperature difference between the two was about 30 degrees (not counting wind chill/humidity).

2/4: Also interviewed playwright S. E. Grummett, AKA Grumms, about their play about coming out as trans — as told through the gender journey of a squid monster, now being performed at Winnipeg Fringe Festival cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-3…

Fantastic to see some many tweets from Fringe fans and performers about all of the incredible indoor and outdoor shows in the festival this year. Be sure to use the #WpgFringe tag so everyone can easily find your post. Have Fun Fringing!
“Bat Brains” has all the weird and heart you could want in a #WpgFringe show. Truly unclassifiable/indescribable — but let’s say “vampiric Ed Grimley in the throes of a breakdown/acid trip.” Bizarre and hilarious and touching. Highly recommend it. winnipegfringe.com/performer…

SNAFU's Spicy puppet cabaret EPIDERMIS CIRCUS is live now at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival! Got to chat on @CBCManitoba with @FaithFundal - liSten here - cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-1… #WpgFringe #WinnipegFringe #WpgArts #YegFringe @WinnipegFringe @edmontonfringe
Loved “Contractions” at #WpgFringe. A twisted and funny workplace dark comedy from Mike Bartlett. And an absolutely killer comedic performance by Heather Roberts as the manager from hell. Highly recommend it. winnipegfringe.com/performer…

If you’re biking down to #WpgFringe, the supervised bike lockup is back — moved to outside Pantages. Great to have this — thanks @WinnipegFringe!
I found both of these shows absolutely delightful. Great productions and well worth the trip to the Ruins. Highly recommended for #WpgTheatre fans.
Last few days, folks! Both of our shows only have 3 performances left each. See ya cool cats @ the Ruins! shakespeareintheruins.com

I don’t know if it’s intended as a barrier or public art, or if it’s a structure with an unknowable purpose related to magical ley lines. But it strikes me as very Winnipeg. #madefromwhatsreal #mostlyshoppingcarts

Not a PB, but did accomplish my personal Manitoba Marathon goal of not faceplanting in the middle of the road. Closure was a shame, but thanks to the organizers and amazing volunteers. Let’s do this next year — but in September, please, @mb_marathon.

Also, thank you to everyone on the route who took time out of their day to come cheer on runners (or even break out a sprinkler or hose). That’s a really wonderful thing. Nice to see your smiling faces, @KajHasselriis and @somers_bob! #ManitobaMarathon
