For @testudotimes, @JudeWilkenfeld and I were outside Jones-Hill House trying to get players to comment. An athletics staffer took pictures of us, and a police dispatch was called for suspicious activity; a cop and 2 cop cars pulled up, and officers ID’d us and asked us to leave.

I'd consider me and my wife in the upper echelon of diehard sports fans. We plan our lives around our teams, including having full season tickets to the Lightning and a quarter season plan to the Rays.
We make it a point to not schedule any vacations during the Stanley Cup Playoffs window or MLB Postseason. It's that serious.
We chose to not opt in to this year's Rays postseason tickets because of the cost. Full stop.
Could we have done it? Sure. Would it have been the wisest decision to make? I don't think so.
The cost of our seats increased by approximately 103% for the ALDS, 338% for the ALCS, and a mind-boggling 790% for the World Series. We haven't even gotten to parking yet.
That increased by approximately 233% for the ALDS, 333% for the ALCS, and 400% for the World Series.
I'm well aware that prices increase for the playoffs and that the league sets those, but the amount these increased is astronomical and out of reach for a large percentage of fans.
Single game prices are even more expensive, when you consider Season Members are offered their seats at a discounted rate.
Because of this, we only purchased tickets to Game 1 of the ALDS and Game 1 of the ALCS.
I hate that we can't be in attendance for every game, but making a foolish (and emotional) financial decision isn't the answer. I can't begin to imagine how out of reach this is for families with children.
Fandom isn't defined by asses in seats or if you're willing to go into debt. MLB and sports throughout North America need to look in the mirror and stop the greedy profiteering.
Ragging on fans for choosing work and essentials over tickets and arrears only makes you look bad.

Let me tell you what kind of guy Pete Alonso is.
We got to meet him last night. My wife starts telling him about her mom - 85 years old, just got out of the hospital, still keeps a scorecard. Biggest Orioles fan you will ever meet. When you call her, she doesn’t have time. “What do you want, Michelle? I’m watching the Orioles.
So Pete says can I
send her a message. Can I use your phone?”
Of course he could.
That’s the Polar Bear. Home runs are one thing. This is why people love him.
Pete Alonso met up post game with Mike, Nick & Chris - the trio of Mets fans who caught his 300th career home run.
They exchanged the ball for signed baseballs, bats and Alonso to sign their jerseys.
Pete brought beers and offered the trio tickets to games in Baltimore

Chad Tracy said on WEEI that Adley Rutschman's hyperextended elbow is still an issue and probably will be for the rest of the season.
He is out of the lineup today for a second day in a row, per Tracy.

Jake McCarthy's bid for a walkoff HR went an estimated 425 feet but ended up in Colton Cowser's glove to end the game.
That's the longest distance of a game-ending robbery of a potential walkoff HR in MLB's wild card era (since 1995).

There is a difference between tough love and tearing down your players, throwing them under the bus, humiliating them in front of teammates and reporters. His players have told me stories like Noah’s and worse. All I can say is Kevin Willard does not belong in college basketball.
Former Maryland basketball player Noah Bachelor on Kevin Willard:
“Thought going to my hometown school was going to be the best thing in the world. But it ended up being a terrible experience all because of a coach. Everyone can have they side of the story but I know how I was treated and what was said behind the scenes. Having a coach constantly beat you down and treat you with disrespect every day when you walk into the facility is just tiring. I couldn’t take it anymore to the point I wanted to quit basketball completely and never play again.”
