As @BenStandig also said: the officials told Washington they weren’t delaying halftime. A lot for them to do at halftime between game stuff or medical attn. Guys did come back out as the situation lingered. I know this won’t fit the narrative but that’s what happened.
This was the scene when Daniels was hurt last season. When it’s not halftime of a game. Not sure what was shown on TV Sunday but because it was halftime some went right to the locker room after he started to run off. multiple players came back out as some went back in. Players admitted didn’t know how long they could stay because it was halftime.

Chicago, IL — The Nationals opened the season with a convincing 10-4 victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Washington erupted for six runs in the fourth, highlighted by CJ Abrams’ tiebreaking two-run single. Jacob Young added a two-run homer, while Brady House capped it with another two-run shot in Blake Butera’s first win as manager.

Maybe if we complicate things enough people won't know how to complain about it...
The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources.
1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks.
2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently.
3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.
I started reading the Washington Post Sports section in 3rd grade. Black ink on my fingertips, cereal on the table, getting ready for school while taking in the hot takes of Wilbon and Kornheiser.
As an adult, I was fortunate to get to know many of the writers and photographers personally. Seeing the Post shut its sports doors is genuinely sad. I wouldn’t be a sports photographer today without @PostSports.
Prayers up for everyone laid off today. Hoping each of you lands somewhere that values you the way you deserve.
