To all my non-black followers! Do you code-switch? Meaning, do you speak at home the same way that you do at work? Do you modify your natural intonation or verbiage when you get around other groups of people?
Sometimes I think it's proximity to extended family who are still from where you came from. Cousins, aunts and uncles who aren't going where you are. Failure to fully integrate you children into new, more productive social circles.
I imagine almost every black person who's ever had a job was hired by someone who was non-black multiple times throughout their working years.
In 2008, I lost my job and 9 months later went from making 30K to $60K. I WAS OVER THE MOON. I wasn't concerned about gaps or if my new colleagues made more money than me. I just knew that our quality of life was improving 2-fold.

That requires work and discipline. Being an internet revolutionary waiting on socialism to kick in is much easier.
You can ABSOLUTELY limit yourself by ONLY reading books written by "black" authors.
It is a great way to become cynical in a world that almost certainly requires an ample amount of intellectual openness and epistemic humility to thrive.
It's definitely not a race thing alone.
This week I spent a lot of time walking the downtown streets of North Carolina. Mix of everyday, homeless and semi-homeless people.
Young men under the age of say, 25 who don't smile and don't speak when you say hello make me uneasy.

Black millennials are the prime working adult population in the community and only 2% of us make $100,000+.
There are about 9 million working Black millennials, so this means that less 200,000 of us in the entire country are six-figure earners.
Add fractured households to that
The median net worth of Black American households declined by 25 percent from 2022 to 2025, according to newly released Federal Reserve data cepr.net/publications/black-…

This is spot on. Not every woman at the gym in leggings or short tights is looking for attention.
Some women clearly love it.
And some, will never have the "preferred " body type, even if they are thin and fit.
I agree with others. Why don't women "twist" anymore? Is that no longer a thing?

Probably feels so comforting to hear people advocate and say your child's name.
Unfortunately saying his name may have not more of an effect than saying the name of the gentleman who lost his life on that roller coaster.
Ooh, baby, don't stop, don't stop, go deeper, baby, deeper
You feel so good I'm gonna cry 🤣
