Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) suggested that Trump’s decision to launch a war against Iran and send 2,000-pound bombs to Israel to flatten Gaza might explain why he failed to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
The U.S.-made Mk 84 is one such bomb. When it detonates, its steel casing shatters into high-speed fragments that can be lethal as far as 360 meters (1,180 feet) away, roughly four football playing fields in length. Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth and Israel routinely used these bombs On refugee camps and schools.
Research has identified potential injuries and infrastructure damage extending up to 800 meters, or half a mile, from the explosion.
The blast generates a massive shock wave capable of collapsing nearby buildings, crushing vehicles, and throwing people and debris through the air. The pressure ruptures lungs, damages internal organs, causes traumatic brain injuries, and kills people without leaving visible external wounds.
Closer to the explosion, victims can suffer traumatic amputations and devastating crush injuries.

The NFL will paint “End Racism” in the back of the end zone...
Then threaten a linebacker's career for acknowledging ethnically motivated, state-sponsored homicide of kids.
The NFL fines players for alcohol-related celebrations because “the children are watching”— while running ads for Bud Light.
The performative hypocrisy and vacuous platitudes are disrespectful.
Respect to Azeez Al-Shaair 💯
Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was told by an NFL official to remove the name of Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, from his eye black during the Texans’ Week 2 game or he would not be allowed to continue playing, according to a league source.
According to Reuters, Wafaa Akila was killed earlier this month by an Israeli airstrike.

If taxpayers are going to subsidize stadiums for billionaire NFL owners the league shouldn’t be able to broadcast games on streaming only platforms.

The sudden talk from DC folks about Dems supposedly needing a supermajority to do anything is yet another version of the Rotating Villain Trick designed to fool credulous liberals into passivity.
First it was "we can't do anything because of Lieberman/Manchin/Sinema!"
Then it was "we can't do anything because of the filibuster!"
Then it was "we can't do anything because of the parliamentarian!"
Now it will be "we can't do anything because we don't have a supermajority!"
It's the same trick. Nobody should fall for it.

A good time to remind you that more than half of the people who lived there were children. There was no standing army. There was no air defense. They basically obliterated their own penal colony over a prison riot. 99% of Gaza was innocent entirely and all were treated like Hamas
That time at the beginning of the war against Iran when an unarmed Iranian ship was invited to take part in an Indian naval exercise alongside the United States.
Its sailors were welcomed on land and paraded before the president as a gesture of cooperation.
Then, at the last moment, the United States abruptly withdrew from the exercise, only to turn around and torpedo the very ship it had just stood beside.
What followed was even more grotesque.
After attacking an unarmed vessel, the US refused to rescue the sailors it had thrown into the sea, abandoning them to drown.
The grim work of recovering bodies was left to the Sri Lankan Navy.
This wasn’t warfare,it was treachery of the most disgraceful kind: an ambush carried out under the pretense of diplomacy, followed by a cold refusal to show even the most basic human decency to the dying.
It would represent a collapse of every norm that supposedly governs civilized conduct at sea.
And yet, instead of outrage, much of the American media response has been indifference or rationalization.
The bombing of a girls’ school is brushed aside; talk of carpet-bombing Tehran is floated as if it were just another policy option.
When atrocities are normalized and cruelty is laundered into “strategy,” the line between reporting and complicity begins to disappear.

If Palestinians were to bomb an Israeli hospital, it would be called terrorism.
When Israel bombs a Palestinian hospital in Gaza, they call it a ceasefire.

Today is Fred Hampton’s birthday. He would have been 78. Instead, the American state killed him at 21 because he brought Black, Latino, and poor white people together to fight capitalism, not each other.
America loves stories of resistance. Until the resistance threatens the system.
Black Panther Party leader Fred Hampton :
"We used to run around yellin ’bout Panther Power—the Panthers run it. We admit we made mistakes. Our ten point program is in the midst of being changed right now, because we used the word “white” when we should have used the word “capitalist”. We’re the first to admit our mistakes. We no longer say Panther Power because we don’t believe the Panthers should have all the power. We are not for the dictatorship of the Panthers. We are not for the dictatorship of Black people. We are for the dictatorship of the people."

So we should ask the obvious question: Why does spray paint on a rich man’s golf course draw the full weight of anti-terror law, when the demolition of homes and the burning of groves draws only statements of concern?
