I just logged my 70th @Delta flight of 2026. I just earned Gold Status for next year. (The second lowest tier) This is because I cancelled my Delta Amex last year as part of my journey to get debt free. The award system is about the credit card now. Not passanger or flights.

I've been on 62 @Delta flights this year. I love Delta, clearly. I needed to get out of debt, so I cancelled my Skymiles Amex & other cc's. After 62 flights in 6 months, I don't even qualify for gold medallion status for next year yet. I'd be platinum or diamond w/the Amex.
