I went 8-1 with Deceitful Living End at the Pro Tour and finished 16th.
With two Modern RCs and Spotlight Dallas coming up, I wanted to put everything I've learned into one guide.
If you're planning to register Deceitful Living End, this should be everything you need to know. metafy.gg/guides/view/deceit… Happy to answer questions here, too.
I have a couple friends and family members trying to come support me for the World Championship at #MCAtlanta but are finding out the badges are sold out. Anyone have a connection on badges? RTs appreciated!
"You couldn't wring a neck that looked like mine, bitch" only proper reply.
I would love to see what the best limited minds would do with this pool: sealeddeck.tech/2qBe7CR91g
Found this gem: my opponent’s 2011 GP report skips our match for my EDH lore, then mentions I beat him.
Was I salty about suspected collusion? Allegedly.
Did I predict EDH would ruin Magic? If you squint hard enough.

Dropped the update to Deceitful Living End (properly named since no one thinks it's good). Should be a great choice for #SpotlightDallas and #RCBaltimore if you know what you're doing.

Great read and interesting ideas to improve the competitive magic scene.
The Competitive Magic Player Manifesto. I put my heart on this one. Please read.

The good thing about having shittier promos in MTG is it attracts less cheaters.
I want to address something that happened to me during Round 9 of the Barcelona RQ involving the player “ConteDrago,” because what happened after our match crossed a line for me.
We went to Game 3, and the match was completely normal until the final turn.
Earlier in the game, my opponent had missed that I had taken Zaun Warrens back with a conquer. We realized it when I conquered for what should have been my 6th and 7th points. I explained what happened and showed him my notepad, where I had clearly tracked the conquer/conquer sequence. He looked at it and accepted it immediately.
Going into his final turn, I had a Sand Soldier on Emperor’s Dais and a Ruin Runner on Zaun Warrens.
He had several large units in his base, including 2 Rhassas, two 5-might units, Fizz, and a Last Rites.
He equipped Last Rites onto Rhassa and attacked Zaun Warrens with Rhassa and Fizz into my Ruin Runner.
I played Punch First on Ruin Runner to trade with the Rhassa/Last Rites. I told him he would get the point, but that I had a reaction to the Zaun Warrens trigger.
I played Rengar, reacting him onto the battlefield and opening a pending showdown.
My opponent told me he didn’t believe I was allowed to do that. I explained that I was, because there was a trigger and therefore a reaction window. He disagreed, so we called a judge. At this point, I genuinely assumed the issue was just a language barrier or a misunderstanding of the rules.
The first judge ruled that what I was saying was correct and that I did have a reaction window.
My opponent responded, “If this happens, I lose.”
I said, “Well, yes…”
He appealed the ruling.
The Head Judge came over and gave the same ruling. My opponent then requested an Italian-speaking judge to help translate everything. After the explanation and translation, the ruling remained the same.
He finished resolving the Zaun Warrens trigger, my Rengar was able to score my 8th point, and the match ended.
I believed that was the end of it and started packing up.
He then told me, “I know you weren’t at 5 points.”
I immediately stopped packing and told him that if he genuinely believed the score was wrong, we should go back through the entire game together. I had my notepad and was completely willing to reconstruct every point with him so that we could both be sure.
He told me, “No, don’t worry.”
Then he again said, “I know you were at 5 points.”
Again, I offered to sit there with him and go through my notes point by point.
Again, he said, “No, don’t worry.”
So that was that.
What happened afterward is the reason I’m making this post.
During my NEXT ROUND, while I was presenting to my new opponent, he came up behind, slapped my arm, and said:
“Good job cheating!" and stormed off.
Everyone around me immediately reacted because it was completely out of nowhere. I was honestly so taken aback that I didn’t even know how to respond in the moment.
I reported what happened to tournament staff afterward, but I was told that he had already dropped from the event.
I could probably ignore someone being upset about losing a match. I can understand being frustrated. I can understand disagreeing with a ruling before the judges explain it.
What I will not accept is someone approaching me during another match, putting their hands on me, and publicly accusing me of cheating after refusing multiple opportunities to actually go through the game state and my written notes with me.
You do not put your hands on someone you do not know because you're angry about losing a card game.
I don't know you, and I don't ever want to know you after this.
Afterward, I also learned that this was apparently the same player that multiple people had already approached me about regarding their own negative experiences with him. I’m not going to speak for those people or repeat stories I didn’t personally witness, but hearing that obviously made the interaction even more concerning to me. This is the person that Dizzee experienced.
So... They couldn't name a set Kaladesh 2 but this was A-OK? Fuck outta here...

🏆 for #SCGDallas I plan to win. Interested in why it's not some UB spotlight themed one like TMNT, Marvel, and spiderman.

My limited buddy came back to Arena after a few years to try and win some Hobbit boxes. Not surprised this is what his achievement page looks like.
