We cannot understate the value of investigative journalists who give survivors of abuse a voice in these times. When victims of SA see endless cases of police abusing women, 1.5% charge rates for rape + police saying even they wouldn't report rape, journalists become a lifeline.

Raise your hand if you understand
- why victims-survivors who've been raped or sexually abused don't report to the police
&
- that women & girls making false accusations of rape or sexual abuse is very, very rare

Some men didn’t understand my post about my 11 year old son, being targeted by pedos online, and why I’m so mad at all men.
Let me be perfectly clear, to each and every man that reads this. You know men are dangerous too. So shut your stupid mouth. ❤️ A thread:

I have spent years in the trenches of social media, battling all manner of MRA, inches, extremists. It is an art form to respond in ways that are effective. I'm here to tell you that @barbiethemovie is the most powerful act of gender aikido that I have EVER seen on film. /1

I wanna talk about the disabled angels: there's so many 'in heaven they will finally be free of their wheelchair' and 'they will be made whole again in heaven' narratives around disabled people, so to see visibly disabled angels means everything, thank you @neilhimself #GoodOmens

Cannot adequately express how unsympathetic I am to tweets/articles handwringing about the "loneliness" of boys/men because they're not having sex. Girls are preyed upon by men, w/ men advocating for the impregnation of teens, & sexually abused w/ lasting trauma by boys/men. 1/

Having a thread about a stone age girl going viral and having a thread about the fashion industry going viral makes me want to do a thread connecting both of these subjects to talk about one of my favorite prehistoric articles of clothing: the Lendbreen Tunic.

Healing isn't always about therapy, new thought patterns, or the new book. It's often about people. Recognizing we need them & sometimes not knowing how to trust. It's allowing ourselves to exhale in the presence of someone safe, & trust ourselves there. So beautiful. So brave.

Our nephew is a kindergartener that lives in Lehi, UT. He was telling his grandma (my wife's mom) that his life isn't going well. He's only 7 and is in 1st grade. Grandma concerningly asked, "Why would you say that?"

I want to say this carefully, but firmly:
There is reason to be worried for the wives and daughters of the pastors (and other men) who have been tweeting about how David didn't rape Bathsheba.
The women you know in real life may need your help.
