The saddest truth about my marriage is that she has to wake up day in day out knowing my $zeph stack is bigger than her ass. When a van of builders drives past and beeps, it's for me. As much of a tragedy this is, I'll never reduce my $zeph stack to let her shine.

i regret to inform you that personal growth rarely comes from acquiring new knowledge and almost always from: -getting humiliated -showing up terrified and doing it anyway -admitting you might be the problem

No one talks about how the quickest cure for imposter syndrome is simply sitting in a meeting with very high-level corporate executives.

In the corporate world, everyone at a certain level is a complete psychopath and liar, only out for themselves. It usually starts at middle management (or lower) and increases as you rise. Senior leadership filters for these qualities. Being good, fair, or hardworking doesn't help. You must lie, claim others' success, ignore risks, and offload low-value work. If you don't, someone else will, and you'll never reach higher-paying jobs.

In short, people looking for jobs in tech will now be competing with recently laid-off Netflix engineers? Dark times. Very dark times.

Ngl, this might be the only solution soon in this K-shaped economy for most people. 2 years left to make it, unless you want to remain in the permanent underclass.
This is the greatest post in the history of FIRE Reddit. Perfection.

At Google interviews, they give you their frontier model and ask you to code with it, because they know it's bad.
Goodbye to LeetCode? Google just updated its interview process. AI is now a part of it. They have introduced a new round called Code Comprehension. The idea behind this round is to drop the candidates into a 200-500-line codebase with Gemini available for use. This round evaluates: - Can you read someone else's code - Are you able to debug independently before utilizing AI - Can you catch when Gemini is wrong

call me crazy but i actually think if youโ€™ve been vibe coding for the last 12 months youโ€™re at a disadvantage your expectations of what models like opus 5.5 can do are probably too low and your workflow are probably too complex for their own good you can literally just tell it what you want and itโ€™ll do it. literally thatโ€™s it

One thing boomers absolutely got right was the hiring process. When someone showed up eager and willing to work, they just hired them on the spot with a firm handshake instead of making them go through 8 rounds of interviews

The job apocalypse is coming. What will they be replaced by?
It's OVER for accountants? Look at these numbers. Mercor put 12 licensed CPAs, averaging 5.5 years of experience, up against frontier AI on four accounting tasks. The humans averaged 37%. Claude Opus 5 scored 100% across all 20 attempts, finishing each in under 10 minutes. Most human attempts took 30โ€“180 minutes. Just 18 months ago, the best AI couldn't beat the average accountant on these tasks. Now it beats even the best participant. Mercor wanted to measure how much AI could help accountants. But AI alone scored perfectly, leaving no room for improvement.
