Scoop: Inside the tumult in the @nytimes that’s discovered that Mary Peltola has scandalously asked staffers to help feed pets while she travels thousands of miles - oh and she sends texts that read like 90% of the men in Congress!
With weeks to go before a make or break election against a corrupt regime, this is now what passes for urgent political reporting from the most important media platform in America. I don’t want to single out anyone, but if they write stories about the toughness of people like Rahm Emanuel it’s with a kind of admiration for the combativeness with his friends and foes alike.
This just isn’t serious.

Every day, another reminder of one of the biggest mistakes in Mets history. Hiring a not GM ain't gonna fix that or the process that got the Mets here.

Imagine having to deal with this for 4 more years. What a nightmare that would be
Fire Stearns. Hire a GM
128 days. 28 cities. 13 countries. Eight international flights and more trains, ferries, buses & bike rides than we can count. We did all we set out to do, and so much more. The memories will last a lifetime. Grateful for the chance to live our lives as we choose. Back to Queens!
Off to Istanbul to start our sabbatical and 2026 great adventure. On this our 27th Anniversary as a couple. Grateful for this love and this life we have built together.
Terrific job by @RyanKost & @Gothamist on the special City Council election tomorrow in district 3. Was happy to share some of my personal archives from 1989 (Tom Duane’s 1st run), and some recollections from Tom’s big win in 1991. @tkduane
Does the home of Stonewall still need a gay NYC Council seat? Election set for Tuesday.

The whole family went to a @Mets game today, as we do every year. We had a great time despite the awful team on the field (thanks David Stearns!). It’s a doubleheader but you couldn’t pay us to stay for the second game. The people who run this team do not deserve their fans.

Very progressive of Chell to prominently feature an interracial throuple in his AI mayoral launch image!

Imagine breaking a closer with a postseason HR, watching him unravel on the Yankees, then choosing him over the best closer in baseball… while also shipping out the homegrown player who broke him. You can't make this kind of misery up #LGM

Devin Williams career was finished when Pete Alonso ended it. He went to the Yankees, got a centuries old hair policy change and proceeded to blow about 15 games in a month.
He struck out some people in the 6th inning of a few playoff games and David Stearns was like I NEED HIM!!! #LGM

You wanna laugh? Boy genius David Stearns signed Devin Williams for $51 million dollars. #Mets
And who brought us Devin Williams again? That’s right, David Stearns. 12 losses in a row. This is embarrassing. How many losses in a row are acceptable to Steve Cohen? When are changes made? Mendoza and Stearns must go. Boy blunder built the worst team money can buy.
11 game losing streak for the Mets with a $400M payroll. Mendoza should go at this point. But you cannot blame Mendoza for this roster construction. That’s on David Stearns. He sucks. The players he brought in have been awful. Fans devastated in the offseason. Worse now.
I just want to know if David Stearns is still considered a baseball genius by his supporters. For fucks sake this team is boring and bad. Losing 10 in a row sucks, but to do it with this payroll is an indictment of all who had a hand in putting this team together

I've given Stearns significant benefit of the doubt but, man, even missing Soto, it's hard to see how these Mets will suddenly morph into a good team. Red flags everywhere: offense, defense, and now the pitching as Senga is a mess. Nothing fluky about the 9-game losing streak.
