Best football book I’ve read since Fever Pitch - poignant, extremely funny, sometimes sad, and full of psychological insight. Read it… #TILLIDIE @damienpearse

ℹ️ 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @JamesPearceLFC: The hope is that Barcola and Munoz can add a different dimension to Liverpool’s attack and help unlock the potential of last summer’s two most extravagant purchases, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

ℹ️ 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @greggevans40 & @JamesPearceLFC on the RW: The hope is that with a handful of multi-functional forwards, they can all contribute at different times in different positions.

🇧🇪🏥 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 - @sachatavolieri: Lucas Brughmans is currently undergoing his medical tests as a precaution due to the tight schedule. The transfer is valued at €35m.
If Giorgi Mamardashvili signs for Nottingham, the Belgian will remain at Liverpool.
Otherwise, KRC Genk are expected to keep Brughmans on loan for another season.

please get your kids into cardio, bleep test, regular jogs, and incline walking, because that’s what pays szoboszlai 280k a week

Szoboszlai has been a problem in the first two games btw. So poor. I know players can lose form, but it feels a bit deeper than that. Feels like he’s not quite an Iraola type midfielder, which is a worry since he’s vice-captain and just signed a bumper new contract.
Szoboszlai. With time he slows things down, without time he tries to be too clever and loses it. Goal celebration last week also shows he is very thin skinned. Right-back or nothing for me. Solves the issue there with a bit of solidity and we still get his party tricks.
Arsenal are the greatest collection of 8/10 players the Premier League has ever seen. Liverpool have a few 8s, a couple of 9 or 10s, and far too many 6s.
Arsenal’s depth is good but they don’t have a single world class player - Isak, VVD, Alisson, Barcola, Ekiteke would walk into their side. I’d say Wirtz would too - if not then plenty would make the case Sob takes Odegaard’s spot
So much bedwetting about depth. Backups in the 2025 when we won PL:
LB: Tsimikas
CB: Gomez and Quansah (who no one had seen play)
CM: Jones and Endo
Forwards: Gakpo and Nunez
Similarly underwhelming in 2020.
If we sign Barcola and keep/replace Gakpo, we can challenge

ℹ️ 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @LewisSteele_: As it stands, Liverpool won’t sign a midfielder to replace Curtis Jones, though that could change if a deal becomes available in the last week of the market.
But it seems more likely than not that the Reds do not sign a midfielder this window.

ℹ️🇮🇹 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @LusbyJack: Chiesa has been more often called upon as a striker and there is a sense that if he remains at Anfield it would be as backup to Alexander Isak.

ℹ️✅ 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 - @greggevans40, @JamesPearceLFC: Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns are likely to feature for the under-21s to build up fitness, alongside younger prospects Josh Sonni-Lambie, Josh Abe and Mor Talla Ndiaye while Owen Beck is set to stay after a setback in his recovery from injury.

🚨❌ 𝗡𝗘𝗪 - @IanDoyleSport on whether Liverpool are interested in Djed Spence:
The club are more likely to sign a centre-back who can cover at right-back, or bring in a right-back on loan, rather than spend big on a player who won’t be first choice once Conor Bradley returns.
Djed Spence is neither of those things. He would be very expensive for a start. And, don’t forget, clubs should never, ever, ever buy a player on the back of a decent showing at the World Cup.
