Thank you to all who helped with my most recent article on Chinese medicine doctors in Australia, including Huei-Ying Kuo, Michael Williams, @bathurstcitizen @drNPom @marta_hanson @ChongJaIan @SydneyVanMorgan @liammannix @alexjoske @ssrc_org @kh_univ @JHU_HWPDA
Does anyone care about or even remember @yanghengjun Yang Hengjun? I know the Australian government leadership loves doing trade deals with China, when everyone else is derisking. But can those Labor leaders at least show they care about kidnapped Australians in China?

Finally someone has written about the dozens of poor Thai workers slaughtered and taken hostage by Hamas. It's telling that the Thai delegation flew straight to Tehran to beg for their freedom.

Again. Health for all has become illusory @WHO, as it has always been.
Two Taiwanese CNA reporters who had been accredited to cover this week's World Health Assembly (WHA) were told on Monday they would not be allowed to claim their press passes, in a move a United Nations staff member blamed on pressure from #China. focustaiwan.tw/politics/2023…

Cantonese! Beijing is working to diminish and in some cases obliterate languages within China's borders, preferencing Mandarin. So two Canto women decided to take over the @dwnews studio and tell you a little about Cantonese — just the best language in the world 😆:

I was glad to see @ChongJaIan asking @SenatorWong Penny Wong a penetrating question. He made the point that ASEAN countries don't agree with each other. Then how does Australia deal with the complexities of the region? Ian, "You said what we expected you to say."
@SenatorWong , " You mean my speech was boring and dry." Her face breaks into laughter. Ha, Australian jocular self-deprecation/ dry humor. @ChongJaIan Ian pressed on with his smart question.
The context was @SenatorWong -The new Australian Foreign Minister giving her first major policy speech. As an Australian from the southeast Asian region, she chose Singapore. @ChongJaIan Ian Chong is a prof at NUS National University Singapore
