I'd cut the road commissioner some slack, but ya, a gubernatorial candidate that stays away because he or she is the frontrunner isn't good. My goodness, you're expected to lead a state-- the electorate deserves to hear honest answers. Let them decide.
Replying to @JimWogan
In general, I believe any politician at any level, from school board to President, that refuses to debate his or her opponent, shouldn't be eligible to hold the office they're running for. I've sat out voting in races because the person I would have supported refused to debate.
Marsha should debate. The whole "frontrunner's don't debate" thing is bad for an intelligent society. Right now, all we get are bad commercials, propaganda, and very calculated media access. Not debating looks weak and is bad.
Why are TN governor candidates fighting about debates? 'Free exposure' knoxnews.com/story/news/poli…
No matter how you feel about @CollegeGameDay, it's a powerful show that isn't easy to pull off each week. At my age, the amperage is a bit too high, but the whole brand and production amazes me.
10:55 pm. Nice win Vols. Meanwhile, in Austin. @Vol_Football @TexasFootball
Met Bobby in 1986 in Kingsport. Quite an honor.
Watching Tennessee vs Georgia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Dodd was Vols’ second All-American, 27-1-2 record as QB for Robert Neyland 1928-30. THEN he was GT coach 22 years, with 2 SEC titles. 1952 12-0 team recognized by many as national champs. 2-2 vs Neyland. #InDoddWeTrust
