Loved getting a shout out from @DrEugeniaCheng during her opening plenary at #NCTMCHI24. Here's the #TEDx talk she mentioned - that when we just tell students what's true mathematically we are enabling authoritarian tendencies.

Here are 15 videos from G4G15 in Atlanta six months ago, please check them out and spread the word!
Most are only 6 or 7 minutes long, and there is a great variety of content on mathematics, magic & mystery.
Lots more coming!

Blog: What discipline is the "opposite" of math?
(opposite = requiring a skillset that's orthogonal at best, and may even have a negative dot product with math's skillset)
(e.g., this discipline probably rejects the idea of inner products for skillsets)

Topological magic trick: Draw a rectangular border around a piece of paper. Tell the audience member that they will be drawing a simple closed curve on the paper—the more complicated they make it, the better. It can (and should) go in and out of the border rectangle

Reading the fantastic biography of von Neumann by @Ananyo , I learned the useful German phrase "Froschmäusekrieg", literally "a war of frogs and mice", meaning "a bitter but unimportant altercation".
Useful term for many of today's academic battles!
