I’m not gonna post it on here, but 99% of y’all have no idea how bad this man was disrespected when he was at Colorado. So every-time I see him show out, I’m gonna make sure it’s known!!

**BUDDY’S LAST DAY AT THE BEACH**
For almost fourteen years, Buddy had been the constant heart of the Miller family. The big Labrador with the dark coat and endless energy had marked every season of their lives, but nowhere more clearly than at the ocean.
When he was young, the beach was pure chaos in the best way. The car would barely stop before he launched himself toward the waves, shoes and towels still flying. He would swim until his legs trembled, ignoring every call to come in, as if the sea itself belonged only to him.
Time, of course, does not negotiate.
The wild sprints softened into careful walks. Gray crept across his muzzle. The dog who once vanished into the deeper water for hours eventually preferred to stand where the foam just kissed his paws, watching the horizon with quiet patience.
Then the vet’s voice delivered the truth they had been dreading. Buddy was old and very sick. There was no exact number of days left—only the understanding that the calendar had become far shorter than anyone wanted. From that moment, the family’s only goal was to make whatever time remained as gentle as possible.
One afternoon Emma spoke the idea that had been sitting unspoken in all of them.
“Let’s take him to the beach.”
So they did.
They brought no balls, no frisbees, nothing that demanded more of him than he could give. They simply walked slowly down to the water’s edge and let Buddy decide.
He stood for a long time, staring out at the gray-blue expanse. Behind him his people waited in silence. At last he turned and looked straight at them. Emma’s eyes filled.
“We’re right here,” she whispered.
Buddy held their gaze a moment longer, then turned back to the sea. His steps were careful on the shifting wet sand. When the first small wave reached his legs he paused, then moved forward until the water touched his chest. He stood there, breathing the salt air the way he had since he was a puppy.
And then, softly, he began to swim.
It was nothing like the powerful strokes of his youth—just a few slow, deliberate movements through the shallows, gray muzzle held above the surface. No one called him back. The family simply walked alongside him on the shore.
After a short time he slowed, turned his head once more toward them. His mother wiped her face.
“Good boy, Buddy. We love you.”
He stayed a little longer, then made his way carefully back to the sand. They wrapped him in towels and sat together as the evening cooled. Buddy rested between them while they told the old stories—wet towels in the car, sandy paws on every seat, the many times he had refused to leave long after everyone else was ready to go home.
They knew one final afternoon could not change what was coming.
But that had never been the point.
For one last stretch of daylight, Buddy breathed the ocean air he had always loved, felt the water move around him, and looked back to find the same faces still waiting.
Sometimes that is all love can offer, and it is enough.

When the Kansas City Chiefs invited Kahlil Benson to rookie minicamp this spring, they weren't planning on him making the team.
They needed bodies. Someone to fill out drills alongside 75-plus other hopefuls. The Chiefs' own player personnel staff basically admitted it, they called his agent mostly to add a practice body, and give the kid a brief chance to prove he belonged.
"There's certainly, in this case, probably some luck involved," the team's assistant GM said.
Benson had reason to be overlooked. He'd started at right tackle for Indiana's historic national championship team in 2025, but he went undrafted, all seven rounds, nobody called. Even in the national title game itself, he'd graded out as the lowest-rated blocker on his own offense. Scouts saw the size, 6-foot-6 and 319 pounds, but called his tape inconsistent.
So he arrived in Kansas City as an afterthought, on a contract with zero guaranteed money, buried on a 90-man roster that didn't even seem to need another tackle.
Then he just kept winning.
He impressed the coaches enough to earn a real contract. Then he climbed the depth chart. Then he won a starting job outright. And when the Chiefs' first-round left tackle went down with a back injury before Week 1, Andy Reid made a stunning call: he'd start the undrafted rookie at left tackle.
Not just any game. Patrick Mahomes' first game back from a torn ACL, on Monday Night Football, protecting his blind side, against the Denver Broncos, one of the most fearsome pass rushes in football, a defense that led the NFL in sacks each of the last two seasons.
It was, on paper, a setup for disaster. Benson had barely even played left tackle before.
He was terrific.
Benson didn't allow a single pressure in the entire first half against that Denver pass rush, and finished the night having given up just one, on 32 pass-blocking snaps. Per Next Gen Stats, he allowed the fewest pressures of any rookie offensive tackle in Week 1, including three first-round picks.
Mahomes stayed clean. The Chiefs won.
Andy Reid does not take risks like that lightly. He'd never had reason to before.
The kid who showed up as a practice body just protected the most important player in football, and didn't flinch.

I was booked on United Flight 93 on 9/11, 2001, flying nonstop from Newark NJ to San Francisco CA. Around midnight the night before, a coworker called me urging me to change my flight to fly into San Jose instead. This meant I had move to a flight that boarded 20 minutes later (from the same gate) with a stopover in Denver. I was very reluctant to do it but I did.
When I got to the airport, I watched people boarding flight 93 and I was upset that I was not leaving earlier, in my 1st class seat on a direct flight. I didn’t notice or care about the people as they were boarding, only myself.
When I finally boarded my plane, we were 7 planes behind flight 93. When we were 3 planes away from we taking off, the pilot told us to look out the right side of the plane because it appeared the Twin Towers had been hit by a plane. I thought it might have been a small Cessna until I saw the second plane strike the other tower. We were grounded just before taking off.
I changed that day. I now take every opportunity I have to watch and if possible, get to know the people I’m boarding a plane with. I never hesitate to give up my seat for a later flight if requested. I’ve had two children since 9/11 and went to multiple mission trips to war torn countries. Every day I wake up breathing is another gift from God.

The most beautiful tribute to 9/11 as 2977 lights fly over NYC and temporarily recreate the twin towers.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We will never forget.
Never Forget.
Twenty-five years ago this morning, America was attacked. Nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered in New York, at the Pentagon, and in a Pennsylvania field. First responders ran toward the fire while the rest of the country watched in horror. Passengers on Flight 93 fought back and stopped the fourth plane from reaching its target.
The towers fell.
The Pentagon burned. A field in Shanksville became sacred ground. What did not fall was the American spirit.
We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters, the police officers, the Port Authority officers, the EMTs, and every civilian who helped a stranger that day.
We remember the families who still live with the empty chairs.
We remember those who later died from the toxins they breathed while searching the pile.
We remember that ordinary people became heroes in a single morning.
Tonight the Tribute in Light will again send two beams into the New York sky, standing in for the towers that once stood there. Across the country there will be names read, bells rung, and moments of silence. That is right. Memory is not optional.
We do not forget what was done to us. We do not forget who we are. We do not forget the men and women who ran toward the danger so others could live.
Never forget.
Never again.
God Bless the fallen, their families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸
